I was living in Melbourne Australia, and having problems with my teeth before COVID. Then we were locked down for 2 years and unable to seek assistance for anything other emergency services, which really accelerated my dental problems. I can still remember during lockdown losing a tooth, and then having to make an adjustment to my existing denture in the garage with a pair of side cutters and a file. Then, when lockdown finally lifted I started to evaluate my options. I was 63 at the time and concluded that from a cost perspective my teeth were not worth saving, with my only options being full dentures or implants. I did not want dentures as I felt this would always be a temporary solution, and even the cost of dentures in Australia is prohibitively expensive. I really wanted the implants but my only affordable choice was to get this done overseas. After some research I looked at going to Bali, which is a relatively easy trip from Melbourne, (everyone in Melbourne goes to Bali for holidays) but the solution they offered was still a denture placed on a implant, and the cost started to become highly variable when they began to incorporate overnight hospital stays, medications, etc So in early 2023 I was again researching options and I struck up a conversation with Michael from Dentavacation, who suggested I look at Vietnam. Most people think Thailand or India for cheap dental work, and I had not considered Vietnam. He recommended East Rose Dental and I messaged them and struck up a conversation with Lam. I was initially extremely concerned about what I was planning to get done, but Lam put all my concerns at ease. I understood what the procedures would be, the cost, the timelines, etc, and when I was comfortable I booked my trip. From the day I arrived in Vietnam, the clinic has been in constant touch with me and I have always felt supported. I did underestimate the work required (surgery for 5 hours under general anaesthetic) and was alone in a foreign country, but still someone from the clinic was there to support me. People with good teeth tend to take for granted many things. I was constantly embarrassed about how I looked, I lost the ability to smile, I could not chew food, and forgot how to even bite properly. I recall being in a restaurant one time and having to excuse myself in the middle of a meal so I could rush to the bathroom and spit out another tooth that I lost. I was in almost constant pain, and dreading the day that my existing denture would not longer stay in place. After the surgery and finally receiving my permanent bridge, there was just a huge surge of relief. The first thing I recall is looking in the mirror and seeing myself looking back and no longer feeling embarrassed at what I saw. It is just such a great feeling to no longer be self conscious about I look. The second thing is finally being able to bite food and enjoy the sensation and taste. Such a simple thing, but it meant a lot to me. Yes, I am also very happy with the outcome, but the first feeling I remember was one of relief that I could now live a relatively normal life again. I am very happy with the results and the process. Old teeth out and implants in during the same surgery. Once healed sufficiently, a new bridge every day until the surgeon was satisfied with both look and function. I keep thinking if I had done this in Melbourne, it would be at least twice the cost, and would have taken over six months. I went to Rose Dental curious about filling some gaps in my teeth with composite filling, my gums are receding and I lost 1 tooth in the middle due to overcrowding and my orthodontist had to pull it out when I got braces. So the gaps doesn’t bother me too much but it did a bit so I decided to check out Rose dental and I could not be happier. 5 star service, quality and excellent cosmetic dentist - a rare feat. I came in to do 3 bottom teeth with composite filling, the receptionist who doubles as an advisor at the front told me that she had a similar issue and was super honest and straightforward about my procedure. She felt I did not need to do anything to my teeth and I can leave it natural since it was already 8/10. Well, in the end I still wanted to get it done and she showed me the pros/cons of porcelain veneers (10 years) v. composite filling (1 year) and that composite stains whereas porcelain veneers do not. I ended up getting the German brand porcelain veneers (thicker for longevity) and the process went so smooth. They were kind and had a driver come pick me up at my hotel for the appointment and drop me off. The female cosmetic dentist was amazing - she shaved down a bit of my teeth (I decided to only do the caps so I don’t have to shave down my entire teeth), they then added composite filling until my porcelain veneers were created in the lab. They had this cool 3D pen that scanned my entire mouth/teeth and sent that off to the lab. When I came back to get my porcelain veneers in- they were my same as my teeth shape (so it was super natural) just a bit wider to fill in the gaps. When I first had them put on - I noticed the Colour was a bit more yellow - it was a perfect match but my upper teeth was a bit more white from bleaching so I had them go back and fix it to add a gradient of white on the upper half of the veneers and the yellower Colour on the bottom and it took them 40 minutes to do and when my veneers came back they were a perfect match. The cosmetic dentist inserted the veneers and noticed my slight overbite and asked if I wanted to shave just a tiny bit of my two front teeth to reduce over-bite - I said yes and the results looks like I got all my top and bottom teeth done with veneers. You know a cosmetic dentist is good when the results come out natural and you can’t tell any work was done. I am thoroughly impressed with the work done at this clinic and I can see why they won top 10 dental clinic in Vietnam. Also the cost was $1090 cad so super reasonable and I got paperwork to guarantee the veneers for 10 years. This whole (my first time) experience with East Rose Dental was WAY more than I expected 🥰 Planing part was soo well conducted; the quote was very detailed with description and photos of treatment for each tooth. Since my first ever arrival in Ho Chi Minh city, a Taxi was waiting for me (who cant read & speak Vietnamese). The Reception was incredibly well organised, fully prepared with all my unique requirements, and they guided my SIX visits with dental 🤩 precision. For each visit they arranged pickup with own Mitsubishi car, To & From my accomodation, using direct WhatsApp messages and reminders 🙂‍↔️ Most importantly, during all the interactions I felt honest, warm and humanly welcoming by all staff. Each part of the complicated process of 11 teeth was explained and immediately translated to English. During the painless but discomforting times, the dentist nurse Ngan was sooo suporting and tapping me gently on the shoulder, which Really help me a LOT 😍. Dentist was very professional and very thorough in fitting each of the ELEVEN crowns, of course he was also pedantic during the Temporary crown fitting over the whole one week process. Than, the colour of the crowns were changed according to my wishes (me not like super white/shiny Snow white) and are were installed permanently after several, very thorough probes😁 .... The whole dental clinic, Röntgen rooms, Receptions, toilets, cold tea samovar, sofas, dental equipment are Perfectly clean!!!
