Located just behind the bustling Ben Thanh Market in Saigon’s vibrant District 1, Pasteur Street Craft Beer is a standout destination for craft beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This microbrewery and kitchen, one of Vietnam’s first, seamlessly blends international brewing expertise with local charm, making it a must-visit spot for anyone exploring Ho Chi Minh City’s thriving craft beer scene.
Ambiance and Setting Stepping into PSCB, you’re greeted by a cozy, modern beer hall with an industrial-chic vibe. The large brewing tanks behind the bar serve as a bold reminder that the magic happens on-site. The open layout, complete with communal tables and a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, makes it perfect for groups, solo travelers, or even a casual date night. The proximity to Ben Thanh Market (just a 2-minute walk) adds to its appeal, offering a refreshing escape from the market’s hustle and bustle. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to guide you through their beer selection or recommend food pairings.
Craft Beer Selection Pasteur Street Craft Beer shines with its diverse lineup of handcrafted beers, brewed by Master Brewer Alex. Their core range includes crowd-pleasers like the Jasmine IPA, a well-balanced brew with jasmine notes, and the Irish Stout, a rich, smooth option for those who prefer darker beers. Seasonal specials, such as the Festive Seltzer , add an element of surprise for repeat visitors. For indecisive drinkers, the Beer Flight is a fantastic way to sample multiple brews in one go. Each beer is crafted with high-quality ingredients, and the use of local flavors gives their creations a uniquely Vietnamese twist. Prices are on the higher side (around 150,000–200,000 VND per pint), but the quality and experience justify the cost.
Food and Pairings The menu is a delightful mix of Western and Asian-inspired dishes, designed to complement the beers. I highly recommend the BBQ Pork Ribs, which pair beautifully with the hoppy Jasmine IPA, or the Fried Chicken Bites for a lighter, shareable snack. Their Sunday Brunch is a local favorite, featuring hearty options like Caramelize Catfist Cutlet With Rice, Stir-fried Tenderloin Steak. The kitchen’s attention to detail and use of fresh ingredients elevate the dining experience, making it more than just a brewery stop.
Highlights and Tips Accessibility: Open daily from 11AM to 12AM, it’s easy to fit into any itinerary. Location Bonus: Its central spot means you can pair a visit with a stroll through Ben Thanh Market or nearby attractions like the Notre-Dame Basilica.
Final Thoughts PSCB is a gem in Saigon’s craft beer landscape, offering exceptional brews, tasty food, and a welcoming vibe right in the heart of District 1. Whether you’re a craft beer aficionado or just looking for a cool spot to unwind near Ben Thanh Market, this microbrewery delivers on all fronts. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their seasonal brews and soak in the lively atmosphere.

Their beer selection was excellent. It was refreshing to try many types of ales at this restaurant since Vietnam is a very lager-heavy country. Some of their beers had interesting Vietnamese twists to them, such as chanh muoi and pomelo. They also have a delicious Cyclo stout that has several layers of chocolate, coffee, and toffee flavors.
The food was excellent. We tried the sausages, okra, broccolini, sweet potato fried/wedges, and mushroom salad. Every dish was delicious and perfectly cooked, many accompanied by delicious dipping sauces.
The waiters spoke English well enough and there was a nice breeze throughout the restaurant. Even though it was open to the outside air, it was cool enough on a hot summer day.
The decor looked like a brewpub in the US with its use of bricks, somewhat dimmed lighting, and numerous shiny taps.
This restaurant is in the heart of Saigon, and we paid the equivalent of $40 for two people (we were so stuffed that we couldn't finish everything). If this restaurant were in the heart of Manhattan or Los Angeles, our meal would've cost $150 after taxes and tip.

Read moreWe did not have a good experience with this restaurant tonight. Ordered an appetizer, two main courses and two side dishes that should go with the main courses. Instead we first got our side dishes, onion rings and sweet potato fries. Okay, no problem, too bad we can’t enjoy them with our main course, but lets wait for the appetizer. But no, we got our MAIN COURSES FIRST, and only afterwards got our appetizer. When confronting the staff they wave us off with “the kitchen is busy”. If Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen is busy, they don’t first give you main courses and then the appetizer!? Lousy excuse. The onion rings were deep fried for 30 minutes or something, tasted real bad. Not everything was bad because my main course, the bbq ribs was good, still nothing real special. Beer on the other hand was good. Oh yeah, and don’t expect them to understand the most basic English, they can’t. Bear in mind that this is not a cheap restaurant compared to...
