Golden Star Hotel — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

Stay at this hotel for recovery from my surgery because I need to go to the hospital every 4 day for 9 days staying at this hotel. The first time check in, I found out at night (when Im about to sleep) the blanket was reusable from previous other people who stayed in that room. The smell of the armpit stick on that blanket 🤮. I cannot really sleep because of the noise from the downstairs of the street. You can hear people shouting and laughing from downstairs. The noise too loud until 5:30am. This hotel just near by to the drinking and some food place. Breakfast included in the room from 6:30am to 10:00am, however you need to asked the staff to refill the food, even though it just around 8:30am. One of the male staff always playing with the phone and you have to asked him to get more food to refill. Compliment to the tall guy at the reception sometimes he also looking after for the breakfast (very helpful and hard working) the morning lady at the reception with the great smile always, all the housekeeping who always makeup my room when I needed and the chef for the nice egg fried rice every morning.Overall this place just ok, nothing...

I stayed one night and appreciated the central location, but overall, the experience fell short. There was construction nearby, but it stopped around 9–10pm, which was reasonable.

I booked the Standard Double Room, but it didn’t match the photos online. For comparison, the left is the hotel’s listing photo, and the right is my real, unedited photo. The room also had constant vibration noises every few seconds, which was really distracting and irritating.

Reception staff were average — no warm greeting or door assistance like I’ve experienced at other hotels. The bed was uncomfortable, with noticeable springs, though the pillows were comfy, which was honestly the only highlight.

Breakfast was okay, but seating was extremely limited. I had to stand for a while until a staff member noticed and pulled out a small table for me.

After breakfast, I was pressured by staff to leave a 5-star review, even though I didn’t agree with the rating I was being asked to give.

Finally, the hotel is on a busy corner, making pickup and drop-off quite difficult.

Really bad experience with hotel and hotel staff. The rooms were not clean. We requested for 6 non-smoking rooms but we got all the smoking rooms and we didn't get a replacement. In one room we found a dead cockroach.

Worst breakfast, they says it will close at 10 am but they clean up everything by 9 am only and if you ask for breakfast to serve they says it's nearly closing time we can't do anything.

Staff was not at all helpful; they tried every possible way to take out as much money as possible especially receptionist Mr. Hai (don't know if it's his real name).

Just wait and watch house keeping at a time of check out, they tried to falsely accuse all of us for some random existing stink and for that they were charging 150000 to 300000 vnd.

During check in carefully check all sheets and towels if you find any stink complaint right forward or else at a time of checkout they will charge you.

They are not into serving good and comfortable stay to customers, they just want more and more money from the customers.
