This is my second time staying here at Paragon Saigon Hotel (from 19th-23rd Aug and 6th-12th Sep). We booked the Family Suite City View (VIP) on level 9. The room and bathroom was spacious and clean. The room was accompanied with 2 air-conditioners, 2 TVS, a good city view (not so much street view), free water and a plate of fruits. The toilet also had a non-electric bidet seat. Location was okay, it was a ~15min walk to central Ben Thanh Market. When you check out, there is a seating lounge and a communal toilet for you to freshen up before you leave, so that was good.
The gym was pretty well equipped and spacious compared to other 4-star hotels. They are located in a different wing and are open early at 6am.
The entire hotel staff were phenomenal, from the reception area (Yen, Trung, Linh and Trong) who were professional, helpful and friendly; the bell staff (Nam, Thanh, Toan and Tam) were fun to converse with, welcoming and always ready to assist us in any way (E.g holding the umbrella from the Grab Taxi when it was raining, opening the doors, recommending places to visit, waiting with us until the Grab taxi came to pick us up which made us feel safe, booking a taxi...etc). The cleaning staff Dieu was really friendly, she thoroughly cleaned the room and replenished the stocks well.
All the kitchen/service staff (especially Nhi) was great. She was proactive and went above and beyond from refilling our coffees and brought it to our table, pulling the chair out to seat us...etc.
The breakfast buffet had quite a selection, but the majority of the food remains the same everyday. The coffee here is nice and hot, as you get the option of choosing between hot and cold milk. The fruits were nice and fresh, except the skin of the passionfruit was a bit dirty...
Overall, I am quite satisfied with my stay. I would definitely return to stay here in my future...
Read moreGreat location in district 1 close to japantown and has a Vincom center mall near by with tons of cafes, spas, restaurants, and some night life nearby. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was overall pretty good with some changing dishes daily. Definitely take advantage.
Pool is smaller. I stopped by in a middle of the day to check it out and nobody was there. Basic apartment size pool but slightly nice view.
The hallways are hot and our room was hot. They only gave us one key with three people staying. I eventually asked for a second key or at least a light key because you need to have a key in the electricity slot so when you’re away, all the power will be off and the room will get hot again and the fridge will be off.
I was not a huge fan of the shower. Which is what I noticed in the hotels I’ve stayed in Vietnam. By sadly this hotel shower head was the worse. It’s a handheld one that’s hooked up and you can’t angle it. I had to just not turn on the water all the way because the water will be too high or too strong that the bathroom floor gets all wet.
I have read reviews how the building Nextdoor is super close and it is but we just kept our curtains closed.
A lot of hotels in Vietnam has stairs to get up to the main entrance is what I noticed. I felt really bad the bellboys going back and forth dragging our luggage. They should add some type of ramp. Vietnam is not a huge tipping culture like America but they do accept it. Please tip them.
I did not participate in any events or promos they do at the hotel but the hotel was really busy. There was several large buses while we stayed there...
Read moreThe location is good near shopping mall restaurants bars spas. Front desk a bit slow, the travelers choice room(budget rooms) are a bit small, no window, hard beds( like sleeping on the floor 😅) very firm… if you are used to that no problem if not…your body will ache the next day. I would think that for 50$ + hotel in Vietnam you could get a nice room with a nice bed…. Real hotel bed. here not the case. Also I could here every time the ppl from the next room where going to the toilet. Breakfast buffet is big, bread coffee tea sweets rice eggs fruits soups etc ( many options) delicious not sure but good to start the day. The lobby area looks nice. In the room The outlets are a bit dated so my charger kept falling. The furniture next to bed where the lamps are, looks like the are going down the wooden floating furniture is too heavy Nowhere inside the bathroom to put hair products so you will have to put them on the floor or leaving them on the sink and get your had out the shower to reach them. Honest review. I thought was gonna be nicer since I’ve been traveling from Hanoi all the way down here and usually I have stayed in hotels from 30-40$ and the staff in those have been amazing and very good rooms aswell… but maybe Ho Chi Minh is more expensive this is my first hotel in the city will update later. Is actually sad because even if place reads this kind of reviews they will just come with a message saying sorry for blah blah we will try to change but nothing so this review is for the ppl considering the stay. Will update when I switch to another hotel with same...
