With the price, you're getting exactly what you are paying for. I would suggest spending a little extra to get a nicer hotel in the area. The staff was nice and the location was great but the rooms were nothing compared to what the pictures show online.
The first room we were in was not even finished with "construction" as it appears there was water damage. There was drywall mud on the walls that was not sanded, walls were not done being painted, mold on the bathroom ceiling and it's very annoying to only be provided one room key. Like most places, the key is placed in the key holder within the room to provide power to the appliances, and with only one key the AC would turn off when leaving. The mini-split units were definitely not powerful enough to keep the room cool once we we returned. It would be nice to let the room cool down for a few hours before trying to go to sleep. Was this a deal breaker? No -- just something they are probably trying to save money through power consumption which made the sleeping pretty miserable.
There were some kind of red stains on the sheets in the first room we stayed in. It'd be nice if more towels were provided, including a wash cloth or hand towel. Being a tall male, the bath towel was a bit small but it managed. I had to use this as my hand towel -- not a big deal.
The staff was nice enough to let me upgrade to a "deluxe" room and pay the difference ($30 USD or so). The room was much nicer but still ran into the same issue with mold in the bathroom and only one room key.
Overall, I gave it 2 stars because of the location and the staff being friendly. It's not their fault the room quality...
Read morePros:|-The rooms are very generous sizes, even compared to our of city rooms|-The rooms are relatively modern and have comfortable chairs and a desk chair, plenty of seating options|-The room with a river view has a decent view of the river (partial though)|-the rooms were clean|-the people working at the hotel were polite and friendly.|-the shower head had excellent pressure||Cons:|On check in I was advised my room did not have a window and was kindly upgraded for free to one with a window that looked onto two other walls and a section that was predominantly boarded up. Given the layout of the building, I estimate at least a third of the rooms are like this. While I appreciated this kindness, outside the window was mostly dark, and had have I been informed from the start (as other hotels in the area do) I would have chosen somewhere with an actual window. I ended up moving to a room with a window that looked outside at an extra cost (500k VND more for the night). I feel this lacked transparency and that I was a little duped into the situation by those managing the advertisement.|Asia rugby centre point is 3 properties down, similar pricing and much more transparent about window options. From the outside it looked a little better.|The furniture was cheap and although I am just one person and not large I was surprised at how much the bed moved when I got on/off it. The TV did not always register channel changes with the remote or buttons on the TV, but would allow them to be entered manually on the remote (i.e. inputting the numbers rather...
