recommandation (04.03.-18.03.2023) We enjoyed our stay in August so much that we considered the ICON Saigon Hotel for our second trip to Vietnam. This time we travelled together with two friends. We could not imagine that the ICON could be surpassed, but it did by itself! We were of course very happy to meet familiar faces but also many new people. The new staff was trained to the ICON standard and we experienced a uniform professionalism throughout the band. We are pleased that Huy was able to further expand his bartending skills and enjoyed many classics as well as new creations (with and without alcohol). We are also happy that we were able to witness him passing on his knowledge and skills to apprentices and newcomers. Thank you Huy, for your constant efforts and how you once again read our every wish from our lips. You also convinced our friends! Na once again conjured up the best Ca Phe Sua Da and I once again enjoyed the best coffee alternatives. Your cheerful and open manner is infectious and we once again felt very comfortable with you. We are looking forward to the next time and to seeing you again. We were warmly welcomed during our second stay and we are of course pleased that some of you recognised us personally. We appreciate it very much that even the hotel manager and the head of the hotellerie Eric recognised and welcomed us. Miss Giao, we would like to thank you. Thank you very much for another smooth booking and organisation. Everything worked out very well and we also thank you for the quick and easy service. Special praise also goes to Thang and Thach. Thanks to you we found the perfect wedding rings (or rather had them made) and also the many recommendations and help for our leisure activities in Ho Chi Minh became so versatile, exciting and varied thanks to you. We appreciated your open, solution- and service-oriented manner and found it especially nice to always meet you with a smile. As we will be returning to Sai Gon periodically in the future, we know which hotel we will continue to consider and also warmly recommend to our friends and family. We thank you all immensely and look forward to the next time.

1.recommendation (08.08. - 20.08.2022) We spent the last two weeks from 08.08. to 20.08. at the Icon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh. At the beginning, we had only planned a short stay. Since the hotel and especially the staff convinced us so much, we cancelled the rest of our bookings and extended our stay at the Icon Hotel. Especially the bartender Huy and the baristas Na and Trang we would like to give an exceptional praise. The high standard of professionalism, top service and personalities captivated us and convinced us all the more about the hotel. Huy catered to our every need and whipped up the best cocktails (with and without alcohol) to sweeten the hours at the hotel. The valuable chats at the rooftop bar and the top recommendations for daytime activities are not to be taken for granted. Lastly, we owe Huy wonderful memories of our engagement, which will remain unforgettable thanks to his valuable input and support. Na and Trang provided top barista skills and surprised us daily with fresh juices and tasty hot drinks. The certain flavour that rounded off the drinks clearly came from the two of them! The additional pleasant atmosphere they created in the café is incomparable. We would like to make it very clear that we were always treated in a friendly, professional and yet familiar manner. A simply unforgettable experience and we will definitely come back for this reason. A big thank you also to Ms. Giao and the two elderly gentlemen from the parking lot (from 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am respectively). Ms. Giao helped us immediately in an emergency situation and always gave her best. Thanks to the two elderly gentlemen, we had safe road crossings, great experiences thanks to their local knowledge and a smile every day. We thank the entire Icon Hotel for the wonderful stay and look forward to...

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!! We had the worst experience in this hotel! I’m from Vancouver, Canada and we booked this hotel for 3 nights as we saw good reviews and the hotel looked stylish. I wrote in detail that I would arrive late at 11pm but actually arrived at midnight or shortly there after and check in time is 2pm. We came to a room that was extremely cramped and terribly small with the AC not working and a window that could not open. I called the front desk and they twice sent someone to attempt to fix the AC at 2am and 4am in the morning. They AC would run for about 30 minutes after they attempted to fix it before it broke again. We had the worst sleep and terrible service there after. We spoke to the front desk and the manager in the morning at 7am and we were upset. There shouldn’t be an excuse where they had about 10 hours to fix the AC before we arrived since we arrived so late from the checkin time. We explained to the manager that this is terrible for us to go thru after such a long flight and we couldn’t sleep and this room did not come as advertised as we don’t have working AC. We then asked for another room but the hotel was fully booked and they could not give us another room. After that we said that we cannot stay here while we hope for them to fix the AC as it was already attempted twice in the middle of the night. We politely asked for a refund and we said that we have no choice but to book another hotel as we can’t wait because We were literally drenched in sweat just trying to get get ready for our day. The manager agreed for a full refund and then went back on her word after. I then spoke to Trip.com about this and they also would not help me with the matter as well. This has been the worst experience with both Trip.com and Icon Saigon hotel. I would not use either of them again. Trip.com does not support the advertisement of the hotel on their website and did not support my claim for the refund. Only a partial refund and and coins on their website. Use another platform to plan your vacation and another hotel. Don’t let your vacation be ruined like ours has. No one deserves this kind of unprofessionalism and treatment as a paying customer! I’ve attached a photo of the email trip.com has sent back to me. They would not do anything about but authorize $33 in coins back to me along with 2...

Pros: Great centralized location in District 1. In walking distance to most attractions in the city. Next to a to Starbucks, gourmet market, a bunch of convenient stores and loads of restaurants.

The hotel is fairly new. The lobby is clean, bright and spacious. There's a cafe that serves complimentary afternoon tea from 3-4:30pm. However, I only went once due to the limited variety of assortments.

The complimentary breakfast provides a decent array of food items. From the standard western breakfast like bacon sausages and eggs to a handful of Asian foods like noodles, dimsum, congee, grilled pork ribs, stir fry shrimp and loads of steamed veggies. They had an egg station that served omelettes and scrambles to a bread bar with a variety of breads and pancakes. Along with a salad and juice bar. Most importantly they had a barista serving all types of coffee drinks. The dining room is bright with modern and clean decor, an outdoor balcony with stool seating, and the staff was exceptional.

The room was small and had no window but it did fit 2 people nicely. The bed was large and comfy and the pillows were perfect. The AC is awesome where the air flow isnt blowing directly on you. The toilet includes a built-in bidet.

The rooftop pool and bar is nice and quiet. I went up one night to have a night cap and it was just me and the bartender. The average cost of drinks was 90k dong.

Con:

If I had to nitpick I would say the water pressure in the shower is sporadically quite low. I'm pretty sure it's because the hotel is quite busy.

If you're on the 8th floor like I was, there's a small chance you'll be woken up by footsteps (especially by those wearing heels) during breakfast hours.

The rooftop restaurant seemed to be out of business. But no worries, loads of food around. Definitely try the Thai restaurant across the street. Amazing food.

Overall, great stay! I've stayed here twice on different occasions and will definitely be back again! Best pillows! Best beds! Best breakfast for a reasonable...

Located in the heart of the Ho Chi Minh City, district 1, this charming hotel has a delightful ambiance. The friendly, English-speaking staff ensures a warm welcome, adding to the overall positive experience. Upon entering the room, the attention to cleanliness and tasteful decor immediately caught my eye. From elegant brass light switches to a thoughtfully coordinated color palette, every detail exudes a sense of sophistication. The well-made king-size bed, accompanied by an ample supply of towels, contributed to a comfortable stay. A delightful selection of complimentary fruits is a thoughtful touch that elevated the stay. However, the complexity of the safe was a minor inconvenience, prompting the staff to be called in with a bypass key – they should consider upgrading the safe. The breakfast room was a delight, offering a variety of options from Western to local to Thai. Noteworthy was the coffee barista, capable of preparing an icy Vietnamese Coffee upon request also. Not on the menu. For a refreshing break, the 10th-floor pool and bar provided a relaxing retreat. Though modest in size, the well-decorated space and amiable staff made for a pleasant afternoon. The local Vietnamese gin, expertly crafted by the bartender, is a must-try. As an unexpected perk, a complimentary foot massage near the lobby added a touch of luxury to the overall stay. For those seeking additional options, more affordable alternatives are conveniently located within a 10-minute walk. Otherwise, the hotel is within a 15-minute radius of major attractions and convenient stores. Navigating the city is made easy with the Grab app (similar to Uber), offering safe and economical transportation. In conclusion, my experience at this hotel was enjoyable, and I would undoubtedly consider returning.

The ICON HOTEL, Ho Chi Minh City, is the quintessential city centre Boutique Hotel. Its fresh, airy lobby with fascinating murals, other artworks and cooling refreshments are only surpassed by the warm and enthusiastic welcome from its joyful yet professional Reception staff. I was so lucky to bags a beautiful 6th floor, front facing, balconied room as my plans had changed and I had not booked. Now here’s the hallmark of good hospitality. The delightful GIAO on Reception gave me a warm hearted welcome and agreed readily to show me the available room before booking, to ensure I would be happy with it. I single her out for special praise but all the staff were lovely. The room was fabulous. Modern, minimalist but well-appointed and I took it in a heartbeat! It was also a peaceful room. Very little traffic noise. That’s really something in HCMC. At ICON HOTEL one of its star attractions is the gorgeous, petite, rooftop pool and a fantastic bar presenting great bar menu food and powerful, delicious cocktails in sunshine and in starlight. Good music and fabulous panoramic views! The breakfasts were excellent. Did I mention location, location, location? 10 out of 10. Oh! And virtually across the road was Annam Gourmet Supermarket. When I entered I thought I was dreaming. It was like Waitrose meets Fortnum and Mason’s food hall! (I’ll review separately.) Finally a gift from the Universe, Fate, Kismet. My arrival overlapped with the departure of The Wonderful Family I had met on “Le Theatre Cruises” in Halong Bay (see review.) We had an hour or so together for chatter and cocktails by the pool. Thank you ICON HOTEL for so many happy memories.
