Masova Hotel — Hotel in Nha Trang City

Stayed in December 2024 for 12 nights

Pros: Sea view Reasonably close to the centre One of the receptionists is cordial and friendly, as opposed to another one Playlist during breakfast is okay Wifi is stable and fast enough $30/night is okay

Cons: Rented a motorbike, and the owner wasn't picking it up for a few days. The hotel has a basement where they put motorbikes. The bike didn't start properly, so we asked to just park in the basement until the owner picks it up. After a couple of days the parking guy/security guard started badgering us every time we left/entered the hotel asking when the owner will pick up the bike. At a certain point this security guard and a receptionist asked for VND150,000 per night to continue keeping the bike, which was supposed to be a free service. Bike owner in Vietnamese sent a text, saying it's a scam, after which the receptionist and the guard agreed to keep the bike for free The receptionist mentioned above never says hi/hello, as well as doesn't appear cordial, to the extent that we noticed how unfriendly she was Every other day 1-2 big (1-2 cm) cockroaches died belly up in the mornings in the room No balcony. As opposed to nearby hotels that have them Breakfast is 3/10 Low key visible construction site in front of the hotel, so in the future there will be something touristy (will become a pro) Rooms are quite small ~25 m² Gym only has a treadmill, lateral pull down machine (four 10kg plates), leg press and a bicycle The pool on the 21 floor has dirty protective glass walls Stains...

Overall the facilities of the hotel is adequate, fairly newly built and great location.

BUT Terrible and very rude service at the daytime reception (evening reception and the rest of the hotel staff are ok) When we complained about the rudeness, we only received a call from the management as an apology after we demanded to speak to someone. We accepted to pay all the extra charges (including for early check in the same day we arrived at the reception - when they know that anyway the room is ready!) But when there is a bad experience they didn’t offer any form of concessions and just asking us not to post a negative review.

Other pros: comfy bed, great location across the beach. Decent options for breakfast.

Other cons: Bathtub is rather poorly designed, everytime you step in it, you will hear a loud noise, and then the water spills is everywhere after you finished your shower. AC is also not designed properly, either is blasting super cold to your heads, or it will leave the room humid. The daytime receptionist is not only super rude, but seems to be rather incompetent/not understanding basic English - on the 2nd day we informed them in person that we forgot to switch off the DND sign and have clearly requested for a room cleaning. We stayed 4 days, and we chose the ocean view, which is amazing, I only give 4 stars because the rooms with the bathtub are terrible, I think it is a big hazard, the bathtub isn't sticking to the ground like it is supposed to and you can have an accident or felldown wich almost happened to us Plus, when you are done taking the shower, the water is everywhere on the bathroom floor 😑 I was worried the first time that happened, I thought that the water was going to be floating out of the bathroom but they have a little drain in the corner of the bathroom for that reason, is a very good service and the breakfast is good too, but the shower is my only concern, I would like to book again in this hotel but I would ask for a room with a shower instead of a bathtub, they have the option but I didn't know until second day, I really recommend this...
