Overall I still gave this stay a solid 4 out of 5 because for the price (about $40usd a night with breakfast) you can't go wrong. ||Having said that there were quite a few quirks and idiosyncrasies that did make us laugh during our stay. ||Firstly at check in they keep your passport for the whole or you stay, or you can leave $20USD. In the room, which is reasonably modern, the curtains had splashes on them but otherwise was clean. We had the ocean view room with balcony, which is the corner room and definitely worth the few $$ extra. Lovely views and can let the sea breeze in. ||They are obviously not back to capacity, as the lights and aircon are off or turned down in hallway, not many at breakfast. And also the aircon in room appears to be on a timer as it would turn itself off after a few hours. This was annoying overnight and could be solved by a ceiling fan for air circulation. ||Would prefer they had a watercooler in reception for topping up water bottles than providing little tiny water bottles in room each day. ||Breakfast was ok, the usual fare you get across Vietnam, although having the cutlery on the bottom shelf near you feet didn't feel hygienic and the coffee was cold or only like warm. The staff were not very attentive to topping up things.||We ordered a beer at the pool bar and the can came out warm, with a big glass with ice and a straw! Taking it back to the small battle the slightly frazzled young guy used google translate to convey that they didn't have cold beer. (How hard would a minibar or Esky be to have upstairs when it's staffed???). He was very accommodating though and asked if we could wait 5 mins in which two cold cans appeared, we suspect from the minimart of the corner. Prices were very reasonable at the rooftop bar at least and the pool small but refreshing with lovely views. ||Enjoy your stay and remember you didn't lay much for this type of...
Read moreStayed at the Nagar for 2 nights, was originally meant to be 4 so perhaps that says everything you need to know. The confirmation advised check in was from 12 but when we arrive, they said we could not check in until 2pm, not off to a great start! They were insistent that they were keeping hold of our passports until we threatened to cancel the reservation (nowhere else in the world has ever insisted on keeping hold of our passports and we are well travelled). On day 2 lost WIFI connection for 12 hours meaning we missed an important call back to the UK. On day 3 we went to use the pool at 12noon (after coming back from breakfast), only to be told that it was closed for the next 3 days. This was the main reason for booking the hotel - the rooftop pool with the views over the beach. If you even check their facebook page on Friday 30 July they were posting photos of the pool (no mention that it would be closed).||||We spoke to the hotel about checking out early and they initial refused to refund us 2 nights. They firstly said that we should have checked out before 12 (we did not know that we were going to want/need to check out) and then they changed their story and said because they had already paid Ebookers Commission they would only refund 1 night.||||No apology, no gesture of goodwill, just an expectation that as a paying customer we would accept their position. What happened to customer is always right or more importantly fair treatment. Seems a concept lost on this hotels staff, particularly the manager who was aware of our issues but apparently went home to rest!||||This hotel could really be something special as it is in a great location, beautiful rooms, with balconies overlooking the water and a stunning rooftop pool. Shame the service is so dire meaning that I would never stay here again or recommend...
Read moreRead moreI booked 2 rooms 2 nights at this hotel for my family. The Sale mangers, Ms. Truc was very helpful, she introduced to me different room types and reasonable price, finally she offered me free upgrade both rooms to Nagar Ocean room, so our family can have ocean view and also have a balcony for fresh air.||Even though the location is inside an alley but the alley's quite large, so car can come in easily. There's some construction sites near the hotel but the sound proof is quite good and somehow our rooms were on high floor, so there's no noise disturb. ||The room's amazing with such a good price! Good design and furniture makes it look much more luxury. There's bathtub too and all basic things u need (bathrope, hair dryer, safety box, flippers, ...) The room's also quite spacious with large bed, and have sofa too.||Although there's still some hair drop on the bathtub & floor, the curtain of the bathtub had some stains at the edge, but the overall cleanliness was still ok. They also remembered to setup extra tower as my advanced request. ||||The outdoor pool on 22nd floor is infinity, we can have a good view of sunset from there, but there's no staff and the pool bar's not operated. So when we finished swimming and went down by staircase, it's quite dark, the hotel didnt turn on the light. = The hotel should consider this as relating to guests' safety.||||The staff not much, so there's no bellman. U will have to carry all luggages by yourself. It's a bit trouble if u have a lot of luggages but for us still ok.||||The hotel location is inside the resident places, it took us around 3-5' to walk to the beach, which's still ok. ||||Overall, the hotel's an excellent choice for the price level. I still recommend this hotel to travellers for...
