Disappointing Stay – Not Worthy of the rating 😓
Notice how all the fave star reviews say nothing and are from first time Russian reviewers??!?! We recently stayed at this hotel and were left feeling quite underwhelmed, especially given its rating. While there were a few decent points, the negatives far outweighed them, and we wouldn’t return.
THE FOOD (Worst Part): The food was by far the most disappointing aspect. Room service meals arrived cold, soggy, and tasted like reheated frozen dishes — we couldn’t even finish them. We ended up ordering food via the Grab app instead. The on-site “restaurant” only operates for breakfast. There’s no proper lunch or dinner service unless you order room service, which felt limiting and inconvenient. Even the breakfast buffet was underwhelming, with slow service and nothing memorable.
THE ROOM: The room left a lot to be desired. Though advertised as having a sea view, ours looked out onto run-down buildings, and loud daily construction noise ruined any sense of relaxation. The bed was uncomfortably firm, and the pillows — labeled “firm” and “soft” — were practically the same, both medium-soft with minimal support. The bathroom was equally disappointing: the shower had very weak water pressure, and the faulty showerhead sprayed water in every direction, making it difficult to properly clean up. In-room entertainment was outdated, with a poor TV signal and no way to connect your own device.
THE AMENITIES: The pool was okay but unheated, and the area felt neglected — more of an afterthought than a feature. The sauna was advertised as an amenity but wasn’t included in the stay, requiring an extra charge, which felt misleading. Additionally, the hotel seems to cater almost heavily to Russian guests. Non-Russian guests may feel out of place both in the hotel and in the surrounding area. The Russian guests are also very pushy and rude at the breakfast buffet which isn’t the hotels fault.
THE STAFF (Best Part): The best feature of the hotel, probably the only standout was the staff. While English communication could be improved, they were always polite, friendly, and tried their best to help wherever possible. Opening doors, saying hello, smiles. They even decorated our bed for our anniversary.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Overall: This hotel simply doesn’t live up to its four-star status or 4.9 on google. Despite a few positives, the lackluster food, uncomfortable room, and underwhelming amenities made our stay disappointing. We wouldn’t...
Read moreThis is not a 5 star hotel. It is at best 4 stars. No white wine only red and a lecture from the waitress that you drink red wine with ice in hot weather, not white wine. A pool bar that serves nothing (no drinks). Room service food bought up in passenger lift uncovered and other guests breathing on it. Nowhere comfortable to sit at the pool. A chaotic and aggressive breakfast room. It is a very noisy hotel, with traffic noise and karaoke next door (and it’s bad). After midnight it is just dogs barking and buses and motorbike horns - the construction noise across the road starts early This is a Russian and / or former USSR centric hotel. These people are rude, aggressive and bullying. At breakfast they will steel a table as you wait for staff to finish cleaning it. Staff will not stand up to these bullies and the bully wins. This makes it impossible for non Russians to have any rights. Staff need to stand up to this antisocial bullying. Breakfast is stressful, patrons with no manners who push in and staff who facilitate this. People taking too much food and then wasting food. Inadequate number of tables for guests and inadequate staff to clear tables. This allows the bully’s to grab tables without respecting others waiting longer than them. The room is too small for the number of guests. Breakfast feels like a soccer match rather than a nice relaxing meal. The flow of the room is bad, No tea. Cold coffee in pot and only one coffee machine. The cake is frozen. Rooms are good and spacious. There was a partially obscured sea view further obscured by sheer curtain which were jammed and cannot be retracted, making the view impossible to see. The bed was comfortable. The shower was excellent. The pool was a big disappointment. Pool very small and nowhere to sit. Our regular Caucasian butts did not fit in rounded seats. Very windy. All in all a very unpleasant area. Bar does not serve drinks. People smoke at the pool. Most disappointing part of the stay. All in all not the stay I was...
Read moreI am not sure why this is listed as a 5 star hotel. I would rate it as 4 stars maximum. ||Room - cannot complain. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom excellent. Generous with 4 bottles of water each day. It was everything else that was disappointing, ||Pool - very small and nowhere to sit and relax. 4 sun lounges semi submerged in pool (so you have to get wet). The rest of the seating tables and kitchen chairs and these tiny tub chairs which are uncomfortable. It is very windy in the afternoon, which adds to the discomfort. Smoking is permitted which is uncomfortable for non smokers and wrong to happen around children. I was confused as there is a bar set up in the pool level but you cannot order drinks - even at sunset. Not sure why this is the case. ||Breakfast is chaotic and uncomfortable. The most aggressive dining room I’ve ever been in. Like being in an episode of the hunger games. It is not the normal 5 star hotel experience. A cup of tea with breakfast would have been nice. A tea bag and some hot water would have been nice. ||Noise - this hotel is noisy. It is on a busy corner intersection. Traffic noise and horns all day. Karaoke from neighboring hotel until midnight. After midnight still traffic noise and barking dogs. In the morning there is construction noise from across the road. |- noisy with traffic noise and karaoke next door (and it’s bad). After midnight it is just dogs barking and buses and motorbike horns - the construction noise across the road starts early||The real problem for me was my fellow guests from the former USSR. They are the dominant group in the hotel. They are rude, pushy and aggressive. Weird for people on holidays to be so rude and uptight. It made my stay uncomfortable. The staff will do anything to placate these guests ahead of...
