Heritage by Night Hotel — Hotel in Quảng Bình Province

This was the most expensive and worst hotel we have stayed at in 2 months of travelling Vietnam.||I would like to start off by saying all the staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful, even getting some flowers for the room before we arrived for my girlfriends birthday.||The room itself was a good size, however the problem throughout the hotel comes down to how run down and unclean it is. To put it into perspective we have stayed in places for £7 or less that have been spotless, this was closer to £20 and the worst I have seen.||The bathrooms are mouldy with scale buildup all over the floor and walls, the tap was detached from the sink, one side of the towel rail was about to fall out of the wall. Inside of the toilet also dirty and hair from the previous occupant over the floor.||We went to the hotel as the view looked fab from the pool, however the pool is green from all the dust in it from nearby construction and the back of the hotel looks very run down. View was good though if you look at the mountains.||We have been travelling throughout Asia for the last 6 months and normally stay in budget hotels from £7ish upwards so feel we have a decent experience of what can be expected even at the budget end of the spectrum.||I will let the pictures do the talking from here, the last picture is what classes as a “made up” bed after a...

I had booked into a 6 bed dorm and was taken to an 18 bed dorm with no explanation. The staff at the desk were rude, the staff at the bar heckled me and called me beautiful lady.

I was not given a key to the dorm, after asking two separate people at reception who were both rude to me they finally said they would have one for me in the morning which never materialised. I didn’t feel safe.

The bathroom STUNK of sewage and there was no hot water. Breakfast was watery and tasteless.

Don’t be fooled by the pool, it needs a clean and there aren’t enough sun lounger a for people (only about 7/8 for the whole hotel) The beds were rock hard and no towel was provided. The place overall had a bad vibe and I couldn’t wait to get out of there. The hotel and my room were dirty beyond anything I've stayed in in Vietnam. Hair on the floor and dirt in the corners of the room. The walls generally just looked grubby and dirty all around the hotel. The "clean" towels had rust-colored stains all over them and I had two large 3/4 beds to choose from - one had long black hairs on the sheets, and the second had hundreds of tiny ants in the bed. The mini-bar fridge was also unplugged and the soft drinks sat on top, baking in the heat. The staff was unfriendly and not at all enthusiastic or interested in offering advice about the area or the available activities, and the breakfast was ordinary at best.
