Phong Nha Cave took my breath away with its mesmerizing beauty and enchanting ambiance. As an avid traveler, I've explored numerous caves around the world, but this one stands out as an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the heart of Vietnam's stunning Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, this natural wonder exceeded all my expectations.
The moment I stepped into the cave, I was immersed in a surreal world of stalactites and stalagmites, illuminated by shimmering lights that highlighted the cave's intricate formations. The grandeur of Phong Nha Cave is simply awe-inspiring. The vastness of the caverns, the echoes of my footsteps, and the cool breeze made it feel like I was entering another realm.
The boat ride along the Son River to reach the cave entrance was an adventure in itself. The friendly and knowledgeable tour guide provided interesting insights into the cave's history and geological significance, making the experience even more enriching.
Exploring the cave's vast chambers and gazing at the stunning rock formations was an absolute delight. The intricate shapes and colors created by nature over thousands of years left me in awe. The highlight of my visit was the moment when we reached the "Fairy Caves," where the sunlight seeped in, creating a magical atmosphere.
The entire journey was well-organized and safe, with ample lighting and pathways that ensured a comfortable and secure visit. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Read moreThis is where you get the boat to Phong Nha cave. Pre planned tour not required - can just turn up. Cave was good. Parking was crap.
We didn’t come as a tour , we just turned up. Upon arrival you are hounded by the women in cafes surrounding the entrance who all want you to park outside their cafe and not their neighbours - we saw women chasing tourists down the street to try and get them. Unfortunately there is no other parking available have to pick your ‘scam’ woman wisely. Parking outside these shops can range from 5k up to 50k depending on what number the women come up with. Even once you have paid, they hound you to buy drinks and souvenirs from their shop and get angry when you don’t.
At the ticket counter you can buy the tickets for the boat and your chosen caves:
Boat: 550k per boat (maximum 12 people) Phong Nha cave: 150k per person Tien Son cave: 80k per person.
It is not possible to buy just 1 ticket for the boat, the whole boat has to be purchased. There 2 people in our group so we waited approx 20min for more tourists who wanted to split the boat cost and ended up on a boat of 10 people.
The boat trip lasts around 2/2.5hrs. Once inside the cave the driver turns off the engine, paddles and removes the roof allowing the passengers to admire the views inside the cave. On the return journey the boat stops and you are able to get off and walk around before getting back on the same boat to return to the tourism centre.
The inside of the cave is quite impressive & I...
Read moreVisiting Phong Nha Cave was an unforgettable experience, and getting there was just as memorable. To reach the cave, we booked a boat ride operated by local families, which made the journey feel even more authentic and meaningful. It’s great to see tourism directly supporting the local community, and you could feel the pride and hospitality of the boat operators.
The boat ride along the Son River was peaceful, with lush greenery and towering limestone karsts lining the waterway. As we approached the cave entrance, the scenery was nothing short of magical a dramatic gateway into the underworld. The best part? Once inside, the boat operators had to paddle by hand, gliding us through the dimly lit, otherworldly chambers of the cave. The silence, broken only by the sound of water dripping from ancient stalactites, made the moment feel almost sacred.
Phong Nha Cave is a true natural wonder massive limestone formations, stalactites and stalagmites shaped over millions of years, and an overwhelming sense of mystery and history. The cool air inside was a welcome break from the heat outside, and the reflections of the cave walls on the water created an eerie yet stunning visual.
For those who love adventure, nature, and a touch of the unknown, this is an absolute must-visit. Phong Nha Cave is more than just a destination it’s an experience, one that immerses you in the raw beauty of Vietnam’s...
