We came here for lunch because we were looking forward to the spit roasted pork. We got rice with roasted pork, egg and vegetables and beef rice noodle with roasted pork soup as well as Vietnamese Milk Coffee and Orange Juice. The noodle was delicious! The broth was very flavorful! The rice dish on the other hand, not so much! The fried egg and stir-fried vegetable were super salty! The more you eat, the salter it gets! I thought it was just me but my husband thought the same thing and he likes salter food than me! The roasted pork was not crispy at all! It was actually room temperature with chewy skin! Maybe they roasted their pork in the morning or evening, but lunch was a big no no! The coffee was not strong like many other places we have tried in Vietnam and was on the sweeter side. They also added sugar to the orange juice as there was a deposit of white sugar at the bottom and can taste it when the straw touches the bottom of the glass as it was not dissolved. I would not recommend the rice dish as it is too salty for our preference, but the noodle dish was...
Read moreI came here because of the really good reviews of the roast pork however was quite disappointed by the food. The roast pork was very underseasoned or undersalted and had no taste at all oddly enough. It helped to dip it in the fish sauce. We got the banh mi which was full of pork but had no taste except the taste of the bread which was oddly sweet. I also got the roast pork rolls (roast pork with veggies and rice paper on the side) and the roast pork was also tasteless and kind of difficult to chew/hard. I saw her take it out of the fridge and re-fry it so it may be that I just got leftover pork from the day before since I saw them making fresh roast pork when we were leaving. The restaurant had a lot of flies when we went. I hate to write a bad review but just wanted to be honest about the mediocre food we...
Read moreWe stayed in Phong nah for 5 days and we came to eat there every day (and sometimes twice a day..) Every dish with the bbq pork is really good, especially the soup which was delicious! We’ve also enjoyed the bahn mi and the fried rice a lot. The prices are also really cheap, local food prices. But the best part of the place was the family who runs it. They were so nice! Always welcomed us with a smile, and after a few visits sat with us and talk to us (despite the language barrier). We really felt like a part of this sweet family, and recommend everyone who is in Phong nah to visit their place, have some delicious food and join...
