We had an amazing stay. I cannot recommend Madame View Homestay highly enough.
Chan and Sung are wonderful hosts. They are so warm, open and friendly. And funny! I felt at home with them. We talked for hours, about anything and everything. I learned so much about Hmong culture and customs during our chats.
They are excellent cooks, having met while in cooking school, and catered to vegan diets easily. They made us vegan crepes and fruit for breakfast, with nice coffee and tea, and tasty vegetable-rich buffet-style food for lunch and dinner with a big serving of tofu for lunch. So good, big portions, great value. (They also have meat and eggs available to those that eat).
They are excellent trekking guides. We trekked into the mountains to see nearby villages that were off the beaten track. Such a nice experience, and a challenging hike (they tailor to your fitness). They gave us great recommendations for our bike adventures, too. They can also arrange multi-day hikes for guests.
The view from the homestay itself is amazing. The last 200m on the bike road is a little tricky but it's well worth it for the view - I stared at it for hours and it never got old. The mattresses are on the hard side, but I had great sleeps during my time there. WiFi is available and worked fine, not that you'll need it for anything except route planning!

Read moreWe booked our trekking tour in Sa Pa with Chan and therefore we stayed two nights at Madame View Homestay. Chan and her family are really a very lovely family and we felt home and welcome the moment we arrived. As we came with the night train from Hanoi we arrived early in the morning. Still, Chan offered us a room to get some more rest and her husband made pancakes for our sons who were quite hungry. The breakfast was in general really tasty and one of the best we had in Vietnam. Same applies for the two dinner we had at Madame View Homestay. Chan's husband is an amazing chef and the dishes he served were one of the best we had in Vietnam. Last but not least, the 2 day tour with Chan was amazing. She explained us a lot of things, showed us beautiful spots and also supported us with the kids. Most of the time it was only us and Chan on the trail, i.e. she guided us off the beaten track. All in all it was a wonderful and unique experience for us we will...

Chan and Sung are so kind, very attentive to making me feel good during my stay. On a human level, I had an incredible time with them and their children.
The place is located in the Ta Van valley 20 minutes from Sapa (possibility of picking you up in town if you notify them a little before), the view from the house is splendid, they also offer treks (several hikes depending on your level walking) and there too I had a wonderful day with Sung!
The meals cooked by themselves are delicious!
I recommend this place 1000 times to stay in the Sapa area. A few minutes walk away there is also the village of Ta Van which is located near a small river!
