Based on the photos and reviews I reserved two rooms with “sea view” for my wife, me and my children.|This establishment is the most beautiful scam I have ever been to. I have visited at least 30 hotels in Vietnam and this one is a scam given the presentation.|It smells musty...|You will never see the sea with the sea view rooms because the trees behind the road hide the whole view.|The carpets are full of wear stains that make it look disgusting|The hotel is not at all a "4 star" but at most a 3|I worked in the hotel industry and this hotel dates from the 80s and has never been renovated, in fact it is attached to the Palace hotel which seems to be more recent.|The furniture is from the Soviet era (I went to the USSR and East Germany in the 80s and it was exactly the same furniture and the same switches)|In short, you won't be proud to be there.|I obviously made a complaint to agoda and the hotel...|The only compensation I got was a note of apology from the hotel, a basket of fruit and a large room (which also smelled musty but in which they put an essential oil diffuser to mask the smell ) opposite in another building from the children's room (so in order not to leave them alone my wife slept with my daughter on one side of the hotel and I with my son on the opposite).. .|Agoda offered me 15% of the amount (their commission) while the difference between the basic rooms and the most expensive rooms I took was more than 35%.|The hotel offered me bad fruit...|The staff, on the other hand, were very pleasant and the housekeeping...

With its elegant colonial-era architecture and serene atmosphere, it offers guests a step back in time while still providing all the comforts of a modern hotel. Located in the heart of the city, it is just a short walk from the beach, local markets, and many of Vung Tau’s best restaurants.
Our room combined classic design with modern amenities, offering a peaceful retreat after days spent exploring the city. The hotel’s beautiful garden and inviting pool area provide perfect spaces to relax, while the refined dining room serves excellent Vietnamese and international cuisine.

Read moreWe had an absolutely fabulous time staying at the Grand Hotel in Vung Tau for our honeymoon. The customer service - particularly Tran Truong Hau who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable - was outstanding. What's not to love about this place? Yes it may be old and in need of renovation at times. But it's also inexpensive in a perfect location just across the road from the waterfront right in the heart of the old town with huge ocean view rooms and a buffet breakfast included. The Grand Hotel really is a grand old lady who has such an interesting history from it's French Colonial beginnings through to a favourite place for Australian, NZ and American soldiers to stay on their 36-hour rec-leave during the Vietnam War. Thank you to the Grand Hotel for adding a touch of magic to our honeymoon. We highly recommend you experience it for yourself. Aleta...
