Lotus Apartment Hotel — Hotel in Vung Tau City

This is a small apartment in a very convenient location in a really nice lane way - 100 meters from Front Beach and a short walk or taxi ride into the city. |Apartments are pretty basic but very clean and each is equipped with washing machine, microwave, hot plate, rice cooker, crockery and cutlery.|If you don’t want to cook there are plenty of restaurants nearby.|The furniture in the living room is a little uncomfortable and you certainly can’t lie back and relax!|We had a balcony but unfortunately there was outdoor seating which would be nice.|There is no pool but you can go to the Palace hotel just around the corner - someone said they charge but I wasn’t but I think it’s pretty minimal if they do.|The staff speak pretty good English and are very helpful and wanting to please all the guests.|I would recommend Lotus to those looking for good, clean but basic...

I've stayed at the Lotus before and loved it. However, this time when my friend and I arrived to check in for our two rooms, some important person had decided stay longer so after the first night one of us, me, had to shift to another hotel for the next two nights. We were told it would all be sorted for the last of our four nights. When I arrived back to check in for the last of our 4 nights there was still no room for me. I wasn't greatly happy with the hotel I'd stayed in for the previous two nights they put me in a better one with a great view but not much else. The crowning glory was that when I went to check out (that had to be done at the Lotus) they wanted to charge me more because the second hotel I'd stayed in was of higher quality. It took about 20 minutes to convince them that this was illogical since it was their stuff up.|Not good...

Ok, so I booked my hotel via Agoda with confirmation. Apparently it was booked agoda via booking.com. When I arrived, the receptionist told me they cancel my reservation because they tried contacting me via email, which I never received and tried calling me, which I also never received. I told them I booked many hotels in the past and this never happened. They told me it’s the hotel policy is to confirmed the booking through email and via phone in order for them to hold a room for me. If that is the case, then why on earth would I use an OTA like agoda or Expedia for. I might as well call them to do the booking. ||Long story shot, hotel policy is horrible.
