My journey kicked off at the crack of dawn, 6 AM to be precise, dragging myself in after an early flight. The front-desk encounter with a man felt like a scene from a crime drama, questioning my early presence as if I had committed an offense. "Why are you here so early? Your reservation is from today; you should have come in the afternoon," he declared. Unfazed, I explained my early flight and ventured into the realm of early check-in possibilities. After some mysterious negotiations involving a 14,000 AMD charge, I reluctantly agreed to pay for my early check-in. To my bewilderment, the revelation came later: "There are no rooms available to check in early." The room that had seemingly existed moments ago had vanished into thin air, leaving me in utter confusion.
The shift change brought a flicker of hope when a kind lady assured me of a vacant room. Finally informed that my room was ready at 11 AM. While retrieving my luggage from the storage room, a sense of courtesy seemed lost. While understanding the absence of a porter service, a small gesture like bringing out the luggage to the reception would have been appreciated.
With a background in the hospitality industry, I felt a noticeable disconnection between the hotel's procedures and the warmth usually extended to guests.
Beyond these discoveries, the staff's robotic responses, following procedures without considering the guest experience, added another layer of surprise.
Here's hoping for a smoother and warmer remainder of my stay. Cheers to...
Read moreYes the location is very good and close to a very nice part of Yerevan. We stayed 5 days. The room was comfortable, we asked to be on the fourth floor due that underneath the hotel passes the Metro, until 11 pm and believe me, the whole building rambles. One girl at reception was delightful but other people looks so serious and conspicuous behind a curtain right next to reception. The breakfast was strange, not real straight normal food, to accomodate your normal tourist, and the space for it is incredible small which makes it awkward to seat and flow when there are large groups of tourists. Thin walls you can hear everything next door. But the most annoying thing was that in 5 days they never cleaned our room. They changed the towels and that’s it. I could not believe it, but.... the moment we were paying it took a second for a young blond woman to fly up the room and check the stage of it. There was a glass with a crack that it seems my husband pushed at night, ( we didn’t noticed otherwise we would have said,) they charged us for it. After not even bothering for cleaning or changing our...
Read moreWe visited Yerevan and lived in Hotel Cascade for 3 nights. To start with the location is perfect, right next to Cascade complex and close to city center. However there were some major issues with the service in the hotel. Firstly they did not give a single bottle of complementary water, when we asked for one for which we were ready to pay they directly denied saying we don’t have any water in our hotel. Secondly, not sure how but whenever a metro passes the entire room starts to vibrate ( I think the metro line goes directly below their hotel). Last, and this was from our mistake but the price we paid for the mistake was just too much. We by mistakely broke a glass which was a very Normal glass nothing fancy and they charged us 3000 dram for it which was too much considering it was a very basic normal glass kept in the bathroom. The morning breakfast staff was generous and considerate. All in all they really need to work on their service or they might lack guests considering there are other places to stay near...
