I went today to newstead towers after viewing units with Hannah(she was so lovely and so happy and patient to show me around a couple of days back). I went back to see her and leave my application form, she was having lunch so she asked an elderly man to show me the units again as the one i was gonna apply for was already gone, but she mentioned there was still 1 or 2 left for the same price and same floor plan i wanted. I told the man I wouldn't mind seeing the 2 bedroom units as well if it was under the budget i said i could afford. He started showing me the units over my budget and the floor plan i didnt want. I mentioned to him about 3 times while he was showing me that was not what i wanted and if he could please just show me the 1 bedroom ones that i previously wanted so i could be done and leave my application. He kept taking me to the lift and taking me to more units that wasn't what i wanted and i mentioned again that was off my budget. He started yelling at me and looked like he was gonna do something against me. I just read a similar review underneath and i wish i saw that before going in alone today. I was scared and very upset now i wont be able to get the unit i liked because if this guy is always in that building, I'd be scared to live there. Like someone said under here, if you are a lady i recommend going with a partner or someone to view this places. It was a horrible experience and it ended my day. I am in complete shock right now as I never had anything like this happen to me. I was certain i wanted to apply for that unit and now im left with 1 week to rush and find something else. Horrible experience! If Hannah reads this post Id like to thank you for being so amazing and professional. I tried calling to thank you because you weren't downstairs, but the same man hang up on me when i asked to speak to you...
Read moreBuilding is ok, very small units.
The property manager pressures tenants into renewing their lease 2 months before the tenancy is up. Then they threaten to bring in prospective tenants without further notice.
This obviously breaks the 2 week RTA notice that a tenant is required to give prior to leaving any rental within Australia.
It’s rather difficult to find a rental 2 months out from the end of lease, as there is nothing advertised at this early stage, as one can imagine.
This seems to be a tactic implemented & a desperate ploy from the team at Aurora to force a tenant to just go on and sign another lease.
Upon letting manager know that I will supply 2 weeks notice, they bullishly go ahead and put the property on the rental market anyway, and arrange viewings. The tenants are treated like sheep.
This tactic from the Property manager is actually not in line with the RTA’s laws in Australia.
However, Newstead Towers seem to not care much about that at all. Bullish tactics and fabricating stories to suit their...
Read moreMy partner and I went to inspect a rental unit at Newstead Towers and an elderly man from the management took us inside the building for the showing. He was not realistic at all with prices (as in Brisbane now there are so many new units for rent) and when I told him that I was currently renting a better unit (it is a new unit as well) for much cheaper he actually came towards me (under my face) in a very aggressive way (like he wanted to punch me) and he started yelling towards us and he told me to shut up and he actually walked us out the building just because he did not like the true. My partner was very scared of his behavior and I am glad I was there and she was not by herself. For everyone going to see Newstead Towers please be careful especially single ladies. I will definitely not recommend anyone this place as management is always on site and if they were so rude with us (potential tenants) I can imagine how rude they can be after you signed a lease. Very bad...
