To my likening the Place - 'Canelands Central' is not that how it use to be a few good years ago...😟 Maybe I am just getting too old?πŸ€”πŸ€— It's too busy,πŸ™„πŸ˜“ too many Γ‘ la 'zombies'πŸ‘½πŸ‘» look like young people😬🀯 with their heads down on their mob. phonesπŸ“±πŸ“±, bumping into another mob. phone users 'zombie's πŸ‘½πŸ‘» πŸ“² & of course into us, the 'oldies'...πŸ‘΅πŸ‘΄πŸ˜€ These days the shops* are selling 'stuff' mainly for the 'young-one's hey...πŸ€”πŸ‘¨πŸ‘©I've noticed also & what is appealing to me πŸ€¨πŸ€”, that some of the young parents at 'CC', are running lost & 'mad' 🀯😟after their spoiled, hypo & misbehaved little 'horrors'...children? !!!πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈπŸ™‡β€β™€οΈπŸ‘ΏπŸ€‘πŸ‘ΎπŸ€’ And the little 'rat bags' are enjoying themselves causing headaches for their parents chasing after them?! They're screaming their lungs out for a public attention(!) to avoid punishment from their parents... who're simply giving up... 😦😞 cos off being totally powerless😞, & cos of fears of being accused of child abuse or molestation. Gross!πŸ˜¬πŸ˜²πŸ˜¨πŸ‘ŽπŸ˜  YES... Nowdays parents cannot smack their 'little monsters'β˜»πŸ˜ˆπŸ‘Ώ cos it would be accounted as an abuse of a 'poor' child, & they would be reported to authoritiesπŸ˜– & charged?!😟😰😀 In my old days, children were disciplined & they're respecting their parents. When kids behaved badly, they're smacked on their backsides, or pulled up by their earsπŸ‘‚πŸ‘‚πŸ‘ to settle down. Back at home, they would have been further punished by being send to a 'naughty corner', by not going out to play with other kiddies, no TVπŸ“Ί for a week, or else. And... it bloody worked, my word!πŸ‘΅πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ‘ Not thiese days though.😩😬 So, in my opinionπŸ€”πŸ€— again what those little 'hypo's,' & some of them with supposedly 'ADHD's' (caused by junk foodπŸŸπŸ” & soft drinks🍫!) Needs is πŸ€”...What so perfectly 'worked' on kiddies backsides then- in the 'Old Good Days'! πŸ€”πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‰ Anyway, changing the subject. At CC shops you can hardly see any products 'Made in Australia', or 'Product of Australia'. On the product's tags it's nearly always added + 'Imported ingredients', etc. Our shops are flooded with too much of Chinese, cheap πŸ’©(!) oops...'stuff' πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‰, that it expires in a 1 year time! 🀯😬😲 So tht supposedly 'rich'πŸ’° Aussies will have to throw it out, & to go & buy a 'new- one's?! (πŸ’©)🀀😬😨 Pls. excuse my language... 'An old age' & a bit of 'grumpiness'hey!πŸ‘΅πŸ˜‰πŸ˜˜ Also, the quality is 'gonski' from our markets/shops a long time ago. Lots of local and nationwide jobs are lost tooπŸ™πŸ˜€. When you try to contact Telstra, or other mob's, all calls go to overseas Call Centres with some staff hardly speaking fluent English?😱! We're loaded with cheap stuff from ME like cloths, toys, etc. Factories employs their own ME ppl. (mainly children!πŸ˜²πŸ‘¨πŸ‘©) Gross! For 14 hrs work at a slaver pay. Products from those 'slaver factories' are in a great demand in Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί 🐨 & elsewhere, cos they're sold by suppliers to customers for a fortune, making them billions of $$$ back! 'CC'- is also too expensive.πŸ’°πŸ€ It's not for mine and other 'vintage' people'sπŸ‘΄πŸ‘΅ pockets. We, 'oldies' have to admitt (as our parents did when we're young*), that times & ppl. are changing, their values and beliefs are changing, & definitely the technology is changing. I don't know if it's for better or for worse?πŸ€”πŸ˜―πŸ™ Of course, I can't stay negative to those changes, cos some are good some are bad.😊 I am born in late 1950's, so I am 'old fasioned' lady πŸ™‚πŸ‘΅, & I like it like that😊. I had to learnt how to use the modern technology to fit in with others in this crazy world?!πŸ˜œπŸ™ƒπŸŒ But many older ppl. Are struggling in following those changes...😟😩😬 I hope that I won't be here when the 'Big & predicted Changes on our Planet will take place... Cheers, from a 'vintage' and sometimes 'grumpy' Aussie...

I dislike going to Canelands.

It’s too congested with people in the walkways and all of the kiosk style shops in the walkways do nothing to help the situation.

The parking is terrific at Canelands but once inside it feels like a struggle to get from one place to the other.

There are toilets near big W which are an absolute disgrace, leaking out onto the floor, some requiring 3-4 pushes to flush, while spilling water out of the flush button onto your fingers. Gross! These toilets seem like a complete afterthought and are never up to scratch despite cleaners best efforts. They really need a proper refurbish and maintenance to resolve the issues.

I feel like all the carparks should be under cover in a place like Mackay, particularly for a lendlease property that makes a lot of profit... they can afford it.

The centre could really do with a cinema as well, which I think was at one time being planned but that has gone down the gurgler.

If I could walk with ease through Canelands and these toilets were addressed I would give a 4 or 5...

Biggest shopping centre for 400km (Townsville and Rockhampton being the next nearest). EFTPOS gift cards available at information desk near Big W. One of the biggest shopping centres in regional Qld. You will find anything you are after and sometimes there are two of the same retailers in the complex (shows you the size. I believe 200-250 retailers throughout the two level complex). Myers, Target, Big W, Harris Scrafe, Coles and Woolworths are the big stores. Restaurants downstairs coming from river entry. Just above is a huge food court. Future plans 2019 is more extensions including a cinema complex. Tip: Parking at the back (6 levels) go to 3rd level and you can directly walk into the complex + there is more spaces available compared to lower levels. But avoid during heavy Christmas or Easter period. Alternatively park upstairs at the front of complex in the older section (Big W end) as it has more car spaces available. This complex is an ultimate shoppers paradise. You could spend an entire day here.

Like a fish out of water, πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ monster shopping centre with something for everyone. Was very impressed with the amount of "public seating" for people to rest up in between shopping. Loved the "Central Station" area where you could take some timeout & recharge your mobile phone/ laptop while you have a takeaway coffee & a catch-up with friends while your kids entertain themselves in the play area. The directory displays are very handy to track down the stores in the centre once you get your bearings.
