We ordered 2x eggs benni, butter milk pancakes, kids scrambled eggs on toast, a chicken burger and wedges. We were told that our meal would take 20 mins which was OK with us. However my wife's meal came out 15 minutes before everyone else's so she had to share hers with our toddler (again fine because we had other food on the way) the pancakes were dry and over cooked, the bread that they used for the eggs benni was hard as a rock. My daughter said that her chicken burger was pretty good. We still hadn't received our kids eggs on toast and wedges so I went up and asked how long they would be. I was told that they had forgotten to make them so waited another 20 mins for that. When they brought the wedges out it had sweet and Sour sauce and that was it. Wife asked if they had the Sour cream that we were told that it comes with, only to be told that they were all out. I would have rather gotten a refund if I had of known. For the price that we paid for all of this we were not satisfied. Staff were lovely but food was not...
Read moreWas recommend this place by a friend Have to say, I was thoroughly impressed Food looked and tasted delightful and the waitresses were indeed as I had been told very polite and efficient All in all I'd say this was the best restaurant and cafe in all of canelands I am not usually a fan of franchises I personally prefer independent cafes and family run ones However in this case, this Jamacia Blue, it honestly did feel like a family ran it The waitresses and cooks all seemed to be getting along and impressively all seemed to genuinely love what they do I have had no finer meal than the French Toast and cake and tea I ordered there at any other venue in Canelands, that is what I was recommended Usually I review horror themed places but this casual and community orientated cafe is indeed well deserving of high praise and recognition of all of its staff A big thankyou to all the ladies who were happy to be there I enjoyed all of your food and appreciate your...
Read moreWow! Never have I ever ordered a coffee and been belittled by someone serving me. After placing my order, the lady working at Jamaica Blue proceeded to ask me if I wanted the join the Jamaica Blue club. I was in from out of town, Sarina to be specific, and I responded that I rarely come into town as I’m from Sarina and kindly declined. Well, her response was “Oh, I wouldn’t be telling anyone you’re from Sarina… that’s a shame job”. Her exact words! I responded in saying “Well I like it there in Sarina, the people there are so friendly” and left it at that. I’ve always been respectful towards staff in customer service, but to experience something as distasteful as this.. never have I been judged like that for where I live. I got my take-away coffee and vowed to never ever step foot in any Jamaica Blue cafe! What a horrible experience! The lady was in her early 40’s, broad shoulders, didn’t get her name. What a horrible person who shouldn’t be...
