On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 4:01 in the afternoon, I bought 3 whiskey-stuffed meats, 4 baklava phyllo dough and Turkish-style yoghurt from Mandawi supermarket. They charged me $74.20 for the items I purchased when they should have charged me $51.70. When I checked my bill in the car, I saw that there was an overcharge for Cardamom and something else, so I went back to the store and asked for this mistake to be corrected. The cashier girl, whose name I learned today, checked my bill, apologized and gave me back the $16 bill. But when I checked my receipt again, I saw that she was supposed to give me back $22.50, and I told the girl at the cash register that she had miscalculated again. While I was talking to the girl at the cash register, a man aged 30-35, who I guess was the owner of Mandawi supermarket, came and asked what the problem was. Since I did not speak English well, I showed the products I bought and tried to explain by marking them with a pen on the invoice that I paid for 2 products that I did not buy. This gentleman recognized the problem, apologized to me, and gave me back the $22.50, and I returned to this gentleman the $16 the cashier girl had given me earlier. Today, when I went to the same Mandawi supermarket, the cashier girl, who made a mistake in her calculations and deducted more money from me as soon as I walked in the door, said to the other cashier girl: "My boss made me pay for the items this person bought because he didn't pay for the items he bought that day," in front of everyone, as if I were the one buying the items I paid for. He said it like I stole it and talked like they made him pay. After buying 6 baklava phyllo dough, when I was about to pay at the cash register, he said, "They made me pay for the products you bought that day" and accused me of theft again. “Is there a responsible person here, such as a boss or manager?” When I asked, she laughed and said, "No one is responsible." Even though there are security cameras on both safes and I have my receipt and the materials I bought, not admitting their mistake and saying in front of everyone, "They made me pay for what you didn't pay for" is a very bad thing. It is very bad to try to humiliate the other party as if I had committed theft and to try to damage people's dignity. A supermarket worker should be more careful before accusing someone in such a shameful way. I will never shop at Mandawi supermarket again because I have great fears about what I will be accused of and what will happen to me on the next shopping day.
When you shop, be sure to get your receipt and check what you bought and how much you...
Read moreUnprofessional as always by this community business owners. They still run the business like they are in their own country. They don’t display their prices on most items assuming you will pay regardless of how much the item costs. They think money grows on trees in Australia and people are willing to pay no much how much the item costs without even knowing the prices beforehand.
Most of these business owners by this community think by not displaying the prices, you will have better outcome on sales thinking people don’t care about the prices where in fact it’s quite the opposite as people want to know the prices before picking up the item as one might charge double the normal price. They may be breaking the law for not displaying their prices.
Beware people you could be charged double the normal price. Most of goods sold here are overpriced anyway.
Plus they charge you 1.25% surcharge if paying by credit card where most other businesses absorb these costs. What a greedy owner charging you surcharge over already highly...

Rating: ⭐
I am writing this review with a heavy heart and a sense of deep betrayal. My recent visit to Mandawi Supermarket left me sickened, both figuratively and literally. As an individual with a severe beef allergy, I trusted your store to provide accurate product labeling to protect my health. Imagine my horror when I discovered that the "beef curry" I purchased was tainted with lamb curry, putting me at serious risk. Not only was my trust shattered, but my health was compromised. Mandawi Supermarket must take immediate and decisive action to rectify this dangerous mislabeling, compensate affected customers for the potential harm caused, and ensure that such life-threatening mistakes never happen again. Anything short of a robust response would demonstrate a callous disregard for the well-being and safety of your...
