Below standard food. I was at the restaurant and ordered chicken spring rolls (4 pieces), fish cakes (6 pieces), fried rice and garlic and pepper chicken for takeaway. I asked about the size of the fried rice and was shown the large container (750ml). I went away to finish some shopping and came back to pick up the food. I was looking forward to a nice meal for dinner with my husband and son. At home when I took the food out of the bag I saw the rice was in a medium container. First disappointment. I called the restaurant and asked if they gave me a smaller serve as the container was not large. I was told to wait and I could hear background conversation in their own language and they hung up. I thought ah well, I will have to just accept that there was a mistake and at this stage I didn't want to go back for rice. I had left over cooked rice and I would add that. Then I opened the chicken spring rolls. Disappointment number two. There were 4 burnt thin twig like spring rolls. Wait for the fish cakes! I opened the fish cake bag and out came 6 halves of fish cakes, not 6 full pieces but 3 pieces cut into halves!! I stared at them dumbfounded. I called again and spoke to the young lady who was polite and then passed the phone to someone else. This lady said that that was their way of serving 6 pieces. I said that was not right. If they say six pieces then they have to be full 6 pieces. I told her that I was very dissatisfied with their food and the way they misled. I told her I would write a review about them I thought that I will serve the food and never ever order their food. So I began to serve and also took a bite out of one half piece of the fish cake. It was terrible. It was like the pre-packed frozen fish cakes. It was spongy and tssteless. I proceeded to serve the rice. Now comes strike 3! The fried rice! I have eaten at other Thai restaurant in Melbourne and in Thailand and other countries. I never saw any fried rice with big chunks of tomatoes, carrots, whole baby corns, bok choy and celery. As I served one scoop I realised there was not enough rice in the container as the chunky vegetables took up the space. I was angry by now. Call number three! I told the lady (second lady) that I was extremely upset and dissapointed with what they served and was coming back with their food for a full refund. She agreed and said that she would refund. So I went back to the restaurant and gave the whole pack back. As I had taken one bite of the fish cake I had returned the bitten piece wrapped in cling wrap to keep it separated from the other pieces. The lady took out that cling wrapped piece and with an audacious voice said "What is this? You eat my food and then you want refund!". I was shocked at her tone of voice. I asked her if she wanted me to pay for that half piece. She again said that I already ate her food and now wanted to return. I told her that those fish cakes were terrible and they sold them as 6 but they cut 3 into 6. She said that was their way of selling 6 pieces. I told her that was unacceptable practice. If you say 6 then they should be full 6 pieces. She then took packet with the spring rolls and again looked at me with disdain and asked "And these? What's wrong with these? I told her to have a look. She opened the pack. I told her they were burnt. I told her you cannot serve burnt food to customers. I told her that we have been in food business and have done catering and abide by high standard and what they served was not up to that standard. The lady quickly changed her tone and said "okay okay, I will refund your money". I was the one who said sorry that I had to return the food and that I have never done this before but I just couldn't eat the food they served me today. She refunded the money and took the food away into the kitchen. Not once did she apologise to me for the inconvenience or for the food. What a...
Read moreAbsolutely no idea!!! I thought I was making a quick and easy dinner solution by ordering take away from Hampton Park Thai. Unfortunately I was seriously mistaken. I first saw their menu on the EatNow app, but decided I would order directly from their website. Which was my first mistake. They have multiple restaurant locations around greater Melbourne, so as I began my order I selected the Hampton Park location. I select the food and continue to the final confirmation page, in which i realise it has selected Vermont South as my pickup location, so I thought oops! I have selected the wrong location, so I redid my order to come to the realisation that the same problem happened again. In which case I decided to contact the restaurant to make sure it was still going through. I was greeted by a woman who told me "Yes, yes it is fine, place the order" So I proceeded to click confirm while she was still on the phone. I double checked the order name and number with her before hanging up. Again she replied with "Yes, yes confirmed, come in 20 minutes" So 20 minutes later I go off to go and pick up my order, on arrival I greeted by the waitress puzzled and confused as there were no take away orders placed in the last 20 minutes. To which I replied that I confirmed it with someone here. So she checked to make sure the order didn't end up at one of the other locations, which it apparently did not. She then matter of factly informed me that I could place the order directly with her then, but it would be a 30 minute wait. I cannot rate the food taste or quality as I took my...
Read moreMy recent Uber Eats order from this establishment left much to be desired. I ordered three chicken Tom Yum soups and garlic roti with high hopes, only to be met with a series of disappointments.
First and foremost, the packaging was subpar. It seemed as though little care had been taken in securing the items, resulting in a messy and unsatisfactory unboxing experience.
The Tom Yum soups, which are meant to be delightfully spicy, were instead surprisingly sweet. This deviation from the expected flavor profile left me and my fellow diners quite unsatisfied.
On a more positive note, the garlic roti was a shining star in an otherwise lackluster order. It was delicious and flavorful, showcasing the potential of the kitchen. However, even this culinary bright spot suffered from inadequate packaging.
Given the overall experience, I'm left with no choice but to refrain from ordering from this place in the future and to advise against it to others. The poor packaging and deviations from expected flavors make it difficult to recommend this establishment for a satisfying dining experience...
