Fell in love with a Opal Pendant and went home to think about wether I would buy it or not. Upon visiting the shop the next day the price went up from $1.400,- to $1.870,- as seen on the new price tag (even took photo’s the first day to show my mom). After confronting the shop manager with the price change he started making up excuses and telling us the prices had not been changed. Clearly showing he was very nervous and not happy seeing us again, obviously because we spoke to this same person a day earlier and discussed the $1.400,- shown on the price tag. We have viewed multiple Opal Pendants in this shop which prices were also changed with new price tags. ($650 to $870)

We offered the Shop manager to buy the Opal Pendant for the price as shown a day earlier but he said he could not sell it at that price.

Maybe the prices are up all the sudden due to summer holiday, no problem. But it would be good if they would be honest about it instead of lying to our faces.. at first it felt like a genuin shop (we’ve visited way worst, we thought) but I feel so betrayed after...

A Unique and Fascinating Experience! 💙💚💛🧡❤️🩷🩵

The National Opal Collection is an absolute gem!

I visited here 10 years ago (before I became a jewelry designer) and purchased some beautiful opals, and I’m thrilled to say the quality and experience are just as incredible now as they were back then. The moment you step inside, you’re transported into an enchanting, cave-like setting that beautifully showcases the history and allure of opals.

The displays are thoughtfully organized, allowing you to appreciate each piece’s unique colors and patterns. The jewelry pieces are stunning, with vibrant opals set in exquisite designs. One highlight is the fossil display, complete with lifelike prehistoric sea creatures that make you feel as if you’re exploring an ancient underwater world. 🩵🩷❤️🧡💛💚💙 Whether you’re a jewelry enthusiast or just curious about opals, this place is a must-visit...

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent visit to the store in Melbourne. When I visit the store on my previous holiday, I met Liz. She was very knowledgeable and was able to assist me in my purchase of earrings. I met William on my recent visit to make a purchase of a ring and several pendants. He was very professional and knowledgeable. We spent some time in making the decisions based on the selection of light opals. It was very difficult to make a decision but with his help I was able to. I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in purchasing opals to shop here. I will definitely purchase all my opal jewelry from The National...

100% worth having a look. The guy who operates the store is an absolute legend, he's clearly extremely passionate and knowledgeable about opals and his collection. And there are some truely amazing opalised fossils among the collection. Would definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys geology, gems/minerals, history, fossils and of course beautiful jewelry

Great place one should not miss to explore when visiting Melbourne! Fascinating exhibits and super-friendly staff. I found a wonderful birthday present for my daughter and could broaden my horizon by the explanations I got for the samples. Definitely a highlight of my stay in the city.
