Warhammer — Local services in Melbourne

I went in to Games Workshop Cheltenham about a year ago with a urge to paint some minis, I was greeted by the store manager there, Jenny I think And was given almost what seemed like a private tour of the entire store and all it’s glory.

She asked me heaps of questions trying to find out what I’d like to paint and what armies intrigued me the most, it finally came down to what I thought looked the most badass...the new blood angels chaplain was my choice in the end. I was helped with all the paints I’d needed, any books I may want to help me paint (this would be my first model) and any tips and tricks to paint this dude.

A year later and I finally got around to completing my Chaplain (busy year) my first model is complete and every time I look at it I always think of that first time a year ago I stepped into Gameworkshop Chelt and took a chance on finding a potential new hobby....safe to say now I’ll be visiting this store every chance I get to pick up new minis, paints, materials and tips!

I’ve never known a hobby store so willing to take time out for you, show you the ropes, discuss your next steps, and let you see what you’re wanting to buy hands-on. This is all due to store manager Jenny, who is not only just a Warhammer encyclopaedia but really wants you to enjoy the hobby as your own. If I could please take a moment and encourage people to go and visit the local GW. The reason is that the can answer more questions and help so much more than the webstore can. And when you buy from the shop, it supports the shop and this helps you and the local gaming community.

Just had a very very helpful conversation with Cheltenham shop manager who guided me towards a much better option then the one that I had in my head when I walked in. If I had just bought from webstore then the benefit of that experience and knowledge would have been lost.
