Peckish Cafe Cheltenham — Restaurant in Melbourne

Overall a poor experience. While the food was good, the service was poor as I was not greeted at the door and had to ask for menus and to sit down. It was also priced poorly.

Elaborating on the poor pricing of items, and a major gripe i had, is also charging extra for items should be included in a meal. For example, I had to pay $7 for a protein option (smoked salmon) in the Hash brown florentine. It’s cheeky, and means I won’t be coming back.

Building on the poor service: some tables never received water, and they did not poor the water. I feel the blokes serving are not truely interested in providing quality service.

The good points: Food was good 7/10, it was clean, they have healthy option on the menu :)

Unfortunately, I can't be super positive about Peckish. Right near the Charman Rd hub in Cheltenham, Peckish competes with Two Bob Snob, Bromley's Bread, Holy Toast, Peaberry, Johnny Dante, and really does fall short of all of these.

All our food was overcooked. Actually, the hash browns were OK, but everything else was less than desirable. Bacon, scrambled eggs, toast (yes, even the toast).

Coffee was not good. Actually, worse than that - it didn't taste good even. Hot chocolate was zero froth. ???? No training???

Cafe was pretty empty and didn't really have any warmth (atmosphere, vibe, nice feeling).

In the area, for most things cafe, Bromley's Bread is superior in quality, service and warmth, and the coffee is very nice (each their own with coffee, bit I...

Edit: I went to post another review for this cafe, forgetting I had already written one (below) the service here is just that wonderful! Ally makes the best coffees and I was so beautifully greeted by Hope at the counter. Aaron said hello again, everyone cheery and bright - the atmosphere is so lovely here. Count me in as a regular x
