THE FEDERAL FUNDING FOR THIS RIDICULOUS ROAD PROPOSAL DISCUSSED BELOW HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN. HOWEVER, LOCAL COUNCIL CONTINUE WITH ARROGANCE TO PUSH FOR FURTHER NEGOTIATION ON STAGE TWO OF THE NICKLIN WAY SECTION OF THE CTCU ( WHICH IS THE PART WHERE THEY WANT TO RIP THROUGH OUR PARK.!!!!) PLEASE HELP STOP IT BY VOTING ALL THE COUNCILORS OUT IN THE MARCH 2024 ELECTIONS! BUY VOTING FOR THE GREENS, OR JUST NOT THEM!!!! TELL YOUR FRIENDS THAT A VOTE FOR THE SAME OLD LOCAL COUNCIL MORONS THIS YEAR IS A VOTE FOR ACCEPTING THE DESTRUCTION OF OUR PARK.!!.. THIS IS OUR ONLY REAL CHANCE FOR DEFINITE STOPPAGE.,..THESE IDIOTS COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT PUBLIC OPINION AND ARE TRYING TO FIND ANOTHER WAY!!! STAGE ONE WHICH INCLUDES DESTROYING ALL THE HOUSES IN OVAL AVE IS LOCALLY FUNDED....AND CANT BE STOPPED....THEY PLAN TO DESTROY ALL THOSE BEAUTIFUL TREES ACROSS FROM THE SHOPPING CENTRE FOR NOTHING! THEY HAVE TO BE STOPPED BEFORE THEY COMMENCE THIS WASTE OF YOUR TAX PAYER MONEY. STAGE TWO IS DIFFERENT ITS FEDERAL FUNDING.. LETS ALL MAKE A REAL STATEMENT AT THE POLLS THIS YEAR! THE FATE OF OUR BUSHLAND PARK IS IN OUR HANDS ! MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT IN MARCH.! SAVE NATIVE BUSHLAND PARK. The Sunshine Coast Council wants to put a road through our park in 2024.. its unnecessary and makes no sense.This is a ridiculous proposal, and is flawed to the core. We need the Dept of Environment, Wildlife Australia and Birdlife Australia to thoroughly investigate this proposal and the damaging consequences from destroying the groundwater near the lagoon which would change the entire ecosystem makeup, and would leave this vulnerable area exposed to a foreign plant species invasion. This lagoon is a green frog habitat, and a vulnerable Glossy Black cockatoo habitat, amongst countless other native species of birds and wildlife, that are being threatened. The Council hasn't been there in any form of consultation within the public domain. Mayor Mark Jamieson, who's pushing this road proposal, thinks he can just ignore public opposition, he has been in that role for over 11 years, too old and out of touch, time to let someone younger in who is committed to listening and acting on the people's concerns.. He will be retiring from his position in march thank god.....! Caloundra RSL has remained very quiet lately regarding this issue, which I find very strange considering the proposed road would destroy the RSL memorial park... the arrogant and ignorant Mayor Mark Jamieson, dumb dumb Terry Landsberg, a surfer with titles in surfing, knows nothing about town planning, pathetic Andrew Wallace and weakling member for Caloundra Jason Hunt ( who's big baby response to the funding withdrawal was(" it's not fair') his words, all need to be ousted in March. Divisions 1, 2,3, and 4 in caloundra all need a real shake up, especially...! THEY WONT BE ABLE TO DO WHAT THEY LIKE TO OUR PUBLIC GREEN SPACES IN THE FUTURE ! If we can get rid of the current Council idiots..Should the greens gain more power on the coast, like in Brisbane, there will be more red tape and public scrutiny on proposed projects that try and take away our green spaces and destroy our local neighbourhoods! There will be implementations to scrutinized their every move! In the meantime we the people have to get rid of these nose pickers and...

Gorgeous easy bushland walking trail in Central Caloundra. Various trails to choose from with numbered signage. No risk of getting lost. I was thinking I had to drive to a Noosa Council area for some beautiful bush land walks but this is so close. I park on the side of the road in West Terrace down from the RSL which always has plenty of spots available. There are tables at the front entrance and chairs here and there on the trails. The toilet was very clean and maintained. There is beautiful bird life around the area including flighty finches who seem to delight in watching you as they zig zag tree to tree. Stunning Tallowwood trees and many other amazing old Grandfather trees. Terrible to think Council are planning to destroy...
