Read moreCame here for coffee and snacks in the afternoon and most items we ordered were okay, but it is quite hard to mess up tea. Our friands were quite stale but it was the coffee that was especially shocking, it tasted burnt and tangy with an aftertaste reminiscent of vinegar. I thought perhaps the barista may have experienced a rush causing him to neglect our coffee orders. So giving him the benefit of the doubt I approached the counter to purchase another, seeing as the cafe now was almost completely quiet. Whilst explaining my coffee order and dissatisfaction with the previous one to the girl behind the register, the disgustingly rude barista butted in demanding that I either order a "strong" or a "weak" coffee. I calmly tried to explain that I only wanted an extra shot not a double shot, he proceeded to scoff and roll his eyes at me arguing that it will taste the same and have the same strength because they're pulled from the same shot. When he began to raise his voice a small, nosy man emerged from the back of the store asking me what I wanted nudging and nodding to the barista in a chummy way to indicate he 'had his back' or something. It took the girl behind the register several attempts to get the two squakers to quieten down so I could tell them that it's not hard to understand that I only want ONE extra shot so there could be more room for milk in their very small cups. Needless to say, that coffee was even worse than the first, but the nasty staff I encountered were FAR WORSE than the horrendous coffee. I wouldn't go back...
Read moreThis is by far Sydney's worst Oliver Brown (outside Big W at Bankstown Central). I can't believe it's still open, and there were people in there. Third time I have been there, and third time I'm told "sorry, we don't have this or that or that" which are clearly on the menu. This time, they didn't have the pancakes. The last 2 times we left, but we thought we'd stay this time and try our luck. The tables were covered in plates, coffee cups, etc. Nobody bothered to clean them up. We had no choice but to sit at one of the dirty tables that cleaned myself, moving everything from our table to the adjacent. Finally, after about 20 minutes someone decided to remove them from the other table. They didn't bother to wipe down either table, only removed the mess. Our waffles arrived about 20 minutes later, they weren't that bad actually, decent amount of topping and enough fluff and flavour. The Acai took another 15 minutes to arrive, after we finished our waffles, despite me going over to remind them we were still waiting for Acai. No idea why Acai takes 35 minutes to dispense. Both were plain with only Nutella topping. I expected them to be out in 5 minutes. Service is literally 1/5 if not, 0. The worst, nobody cares as they stand behind the counter talking to each other and ignoring the customers. Will...
