Since the new fish shop does not yet appear to have its own entry on Google Maps, I shall instead review it here. On the whole it has been VASTLY improved under the new management however it does bear mentioning that I was served today by someone whose English fluency was clearly inadequate to understand me. Specifically, I told her that I did NOT need a carry bag (because I already had one from the nearby greengrocer) nor did I need the usual white wrapping paper because I was taking it straight home and would only throw such paper straight in the recycling (thus unnecessarily wasteful.) After seemingly acknowledging that she understood me, she then went ahead and tried to do PRECISELY as I had asked her NOT to on BOTH of these counts. Furthermore, she did NOT, as I HAD asked, tie a knot in the bag with the fish directly in it; I had to do this myself, to the words "THIS is what I meant by 'tie a KNOT'" at which point she looked at me with a facial expression suggesting there was something wrong with me!! I pride myself on NEVER EVER telling ANYONE to "go back where they came from," although I HAVE occasionally been known to say "Go back to ESL school!!" especially to people working in food service, in which situation a miscommunication concerning FOOD ALLERGY could easily be LIFE...
