I've always had good experiences at Jasmin 1 when it was just two of us or even in larger groups. Food was amazing, price reasonable and we never had waited an excessive amount of time for food even when it was busy. But after my experience last night, I won't ever be able to return and will warn others to stay away.
We came for a late dinner and ordered two things to eat in. After 30+ mins, we were starting to wonder where our food was considering when we looked around the room, had noticed all of the tables had pretty much finished eating. Some had already gotten their food before we even arrived. Soon after another couple came in and sat next to us and also ordered... And not long after, their food came out even though we ordered at least 30 mins before them?
We asked a server to check on the status of our order. It was obvious that something had gone wrong when they were looking at the ipad and talking amongst each other. They had either forgot to put our order through or had given it to a wrong table maybe out the back? We didn't see any food get served in the main dining hall only to the couple next to us.
When we finally got an update, the server’s tone was completely unapologetic and annoyed? Just a flat “it’ll be out soon.” Then, a few minutes later, another staff member walked toward us with one of the dishes we’d ordered… only to place it on the table next to us with an uninterested, “yours is coming.” I don’t think she realised how insulting that was. The exact meal we’d been waiting over 30+ minutes for was served to the people beside us, who had waited a lot less time than us.
We were in disbelief over what just happened. Waited a few mins but then decided to leave, it left a bad taste in our mouth. I worked in hospitality for 5 years. I understand that mistakes happen. There's big groups, big orders, long waits which I am fine with but this was unacceptable. To watch the same meal go to another table right next to us after such a long wait, with zero apology or accountability, was beyond frustrating. What a joke. Maybe if the staff were more apologetic and not as rude, we would have stayed but why should we support a business that treats...
Read moreIt’s a nice location. Staff seem friendly enough.
Issue is, with online orders, i believe they skimp out on the full portion of what you’re paying for.
I paid $50 for chicken skewers with tabouli and garlic sauce, takeaway. I know….I know…. Mental. But worth it if the food is on point, right? Wrong.
The chicken was about 2 skewers worth/6-7 chunks of chicken. It is meant to be 3 full skewers.
They include the garlic sauce in the chicken take away container to take up space. Nice tactic, if intentional. Some pickles also in the same chicken container. So that means even less chicken.
Tabouli was the amount of a small plate but sold to you at $15 which is the price for a large plate.
Take away containers aren’t no where near large enough to hold the full amount of food you would get if you dine-in.
Mind you, I have been to other Jasmin1 restaurants many times (punchbowl/bankstown), where they give you a plate of pickles, a plate of garlic sauce, basket of bread etc. and that’s before the main dishes come out. It’s a very different experience, so my expectation and comparison, I believe to be valid.
That being said, don’t order online or takeaway. You won’t be getting what...
Read moreWow absolutely delicious food 😋 🙏 Got takeaway here last night, I’d already made a tabbouleh and hummus and was going to get takeaway on way to partners and thought 🤔 get some meats bread and have a feast.
Rang up the restaurant on the freeway and ordered two lots of 6 skewers with kofte tawook and Shish also comes with bread pickles toum so I added some lamb pastries and went picked up and headed home.
Was so hard not to eat in the car omg! Got home opened it all up! What a feast! Had left over meat it easily fed four hungry adults all for 90 bux.
The meats were delicious the shawook so tender and the lamb delicious. The kofte was perfectly spiced!
Man those lamb parcels of heaven were to die for I could’ve eaten ten.
Hands down delicious food topped of with my tabbouleh of course 😆
$90 may seem like a lot but you could feed six people (who aren’t 🐷) so it’s like 15 a head for damn good food. Only reason I make tabbouleh is I love it with lots of burghul and garlic opposed to its purpose of cleansing the palate and lemony. What can I say I love lots of...
