What an absolute gem for the inner west community. Sebastien Sans Gluten is a must-visit for anyone, but even more important for those afflicted by a gluten intolerance or Coeliac Disease. I have been a repeat customer of this establishment since the very first weekend they opened and I must say that every visit has filled me with delight (quite literally). The pastries are beautifully soft, flakey and crunchy at the same time (I don't know how he does it, honestly), the pies are just bursting with flavour and absolutely divine and the tarts and silky, fresh and the perfect blend of sweet and tangy! He has the best gluten free croissants in Sydney and my husband says that his Ham & Cheese croissant is the best ham & cheese croissant he's ever had! Such an accolade considering he doesn't have any afflictions that prevent him from eating gluten! The prices are in line with standard gluten free fare but the quality is higher; any fancy french patisserie would charge more for such a special array of absolute delicacies. Do yourself a favour and visit the team at Sebastien Sans gluten for a range of baked delights; you will not regret it! EDIT: I came to update and say that today, February 22nd 2025 I came BACK to Sebastien's and I love him, his wife and his team as much as ever. Thank you again for your contributions to the gluten free community; I love being able to partake in MANY weekend specials with both unique creations and the latest food trends; today's Vegemite and Cheese weekend special was well worth the 40 minute drive 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤.

Great little dedicated gluten free cafe/bakehouse with ample gluten free and vegetarian options too. COELIAC SAFE - As no gluten is on the premises. STAFF: Absolutely lovely, I recognised the chef from ex-Wholegreens and recall people used to go there just for him alone, so it's awesome that he's broken away to start up his own incredible business as the absolute master of gf baking 👌 His wife was absolutely lovely and very good at understanding what I was after. It's beautiful to go to a place with such a warm family vibe. They're efficient, passionate and very customer oriented. FOOD: Incredible+ Amazing to get the gluten free consistency they have with their croissants, slices, eclairs etc. There is a range of both hot and cold savoury and sweet foods. With options to order frozen items to take home etc. PRICING: Reasonable. Making things gf is more expensive. Compared to gluten containing foods you may be surprised, but the consistent use of high quality ingredients shows in both taste and texture. LOCATION: Centrally located in Leichhardt, just off the main street, diagonal from Leichhardt Centre. Minutes from the bus stops. DECOR: Fresh, bright, French minimalist. Homely large timber table seats c.10 people with little bench areas off to the side. OVERALL: Highly recommend, I'll keep coming back.

Cannot believe this is all gluten free! Several of my gf friends rave about this place thats its one of the best gf bakeries/patisseries around, so even though I am not coeliac or gf, I had to try for myself. The sweet pastries are perfect & you wouldnt know its gf at all. The pastry on the tarts are buttery, short & delicious, as are the fillings. I have tried the pear, lemon tart & lemon meringue and strawberry and every one was perfect. The quiche & savoury pie pastries (filled with salmon or perhaps daily special of eggplant & hummus) are very similar to non-gf so you can't really tell a difference! The pastries (croissants, pain au chocolat, etc) won't be quite the same as one containing gluten of course, but its not at all doughy/sticky like many gf versions I have tried. The pain au chocolat is delicious & very indulgent! The ham & cheese is filled generously with in-house cured ham & a slightly sweet gooey bachemel & I'd be happy to eat the ham alone! (along with the bachemel)! The coffee & chais are excellent, staff super friendly & helpful, & all the goodies are stunningly made! Plus the chef himself might come & say hi! What a treat to come here! I can't wait to come for the almond croissants which are available on weekends!

This is French patisserie heaven for coeliacs and regular folk alike. While I was there a steady stream of customers were coming through for takeaway coffee and treats.

I ordered a flat white, apple turnover and spinach and feta pastry.

The coffee beans are by Black Market Coffee. My coffee was nice, lightly acidic but strong. Definitely worthy of popping in just for your morning brew on the way to work. There's a selection of premium loose leaf teas available too.

The apple turnover pastry is unreal. So super crisp with amazing impossibly thin flakes. The filling is an apple purée with a few apple slices. It's spiced and not too sweet.

Spinach and feta feuillete. Amazingly crispy pastry with good lamination on top. Generously filled with feta and spinach. Taste wise the filling is well balanced, it's not too salty and you still get good spinach flavour. The filling goes right to the edges too. Also it's huge, it weighs 230g. No gluten free shrinkage. It didn't ever fall apart in a gluten free way.

The food doesn't give a gluten free vibe at all. I think the only indication that it's gluten free would be the price. But having said that, this is French patisserie so you're expecting a higher price, right?

The menu is broader on the weekend with more choux pastry and more flavours of savoury croissants.

Nice chill music too and isn't at all loud. A few vegetarian items but not much that's vegan. Though I've heard vegan croissants are coming early August.

There's a long table by the window with five seats and one large communal table seating 6 to 8. There's no restrooms but there are some across the road in the shopping centre.

The staff are absolutely lovely and it was so nice to have Sebastien himself pop over to ask how everything was and chat...
