Martin Place has got to be the best of Sydney metro's new stations. A pinnacle of sydney architecture, and truly a showcase of the government's latest public infrastructure projects. Long, sleek metro platforms lined with designs reminiscent of Sydney's natural sandstone. Large inscribed "Martin Place" leave no doubt as to where metro commuters are along the lengthy underground line. Perhaps the most stunning feature is the vast, cavernous escalator space. Three storeys of escalators lead down from the surface to the metro concourse. The whole station feels vast, cavernous and open, a welcome contrast to most of Sydney's underground train stations. All in all, Martin Place metro concourse presents a pinnacle of modern Australian innovation and engineering. A must see for anyone interested in engineering and design around in Sydney.

The train station is a maze; the connection between the train and the metro takes at least 10 minutes for people with disabilities due to confusing signs. I even got lost trying to find it, and missed two metro trains because of that, arriving late to work. Confusing signs, indicating where the metro is when you get off the train. The signs show like metro and trains are in the same level, but it isn’t, then you take the escalator and no signs where the metro is.

Martin Place just scored two new metro platforms as part of eight new metro stations in Sydney. It is now a key interchange station for people travelling between the Eastern Suburbs and the North Shore. The dominant material type is sandstone which reflects the historic sandstone buildings that line Martin Place itself. The metro platforms are future- proofed to provide a future pedestrian connection to the Hunter Street Station when it opens in 2032.

The most strategic one at the down town of Sydney. From here you can take the train goes to the airport and vice versa if you are coming from the airport the best location to see the city and Opera house is to get off at this station. Most of the tourists attractions in Sydney harbour are close to this station. However, watching the homeless people sleeping there is not a pleasant at all. You need to get Opal card from the airport train station to have cheaper fare (around $16 instead of 22). Opal card is granted for free but need to add at...
