Date and Time of visit: (Sydney Tower Eye) 2024 Sep 01, 4.45 pm to 6.45 pm. (Virtual Reality Tower Coaster Experience) 2024 Sep 07, 5.00 pm to 5.15 pm. Overall: 9.2/10. Sight Seeing: 10. Activity: 7. Indoor Air Conditioning: 10. Ambience: 9. Location: 10. Expected activity 1.5 to 2 hours. Price Entry: AUD 80.00 (4 Attraction Pass from Sydney Tower Eye website)
Note: I recommend to buy combo attraction pass online for lower price and faster experience. There is a discount package of AUD 20.00 for the Virtual Reality (Tower Coaster and Shark Dive) when I physically went to Sydney Tower Eye. However, this offer does not seem to be available online when I was purchasing the 4 attraction pass. Since the online VR price is the same as on site, it would be better to purchase the Virtual Reality tickets physically, rather than to purchase online.
Sight Seeing: Spectacular, wonderful unobstructed views of Sydney Central Business District, iconic landmarks, coast lines, ships, breathtaking sunset, etc. Highly recommended to get a picturesque view of the sunset, day and night views, so arrive about 0.5 to 1 hour earlier.
Activity: The Virtual Reality Tower Coaster Experience was short, but quite fun. The virtual reality views are quite realistic, you can look left to right, up to down and enjoy the views of Sydney from above. The experience would have been even better if it was more similar to conventional coaster rides, such as: (1) "rocky" feel when moving along the tracks, (2) "jerky" experience when the coaster makes abrupt turns, (3) "wind" factor as the coaster is accelerating downwards against gravity, etc.
Indoor Air Conditioning: The air conditioning was great. It was cool and comfortable even though there were many people inside.
Location: It is located within Sydney Central Business District, and is close to multiple hotels, attractions...
Read moreOn the night of September 10, 2025, I had a very distressing experience at the Sydney Tower, specifically at the Infinity Tower restaurant where I went for dinner with my group.
When we first arrived around 5:30 pm, the elevator we took to go up was already malfunctioning—the doors would not close properly and kept reopening. When we mentioned this to a staff member, we were told it was due to the wind.
After dinner, at around 8:30 pm, we took the elevator down. Somehow the floor of lift was wet as well as water dripping on lift door which we thought it’s strange. Shortly after the doors closed, there was a loud thud and the elevator suddenly stopped. We were trapped inside. We panicked, and since one of our group members is pregnant, we urgently pressed the emergency bell twice to request help. However, the person who answered only said, “A mechanic is on the way,” and hung up. We kept waiting, but no one came for a long time, which made the situation even scarier.
After being trapped for about 30 minutes, a mechanic finally opened the elevator and rescued us. Thankfully, no one was physically injured. However, we received no compensation whatsoever, and all the staff kept blaming the weather and saying there was nothing they could do.
This was a serious safety incident, and Westfield must take responsibility. While we were lucky to escape unharmed, the fear and wasted time we endured inside that elevator should not be dismissed. Because of this experience, I never want to return to Sydney Tower again, nor would I recommend it to anyone I know. A landmark of this importance should not operate with such poor safety measures and facilities. If the elevator is faulty, it must be properly repaired to prevent...
