We have an unpleasant shopping experience at this supermarket today.
We bought a lot of things, first tried self-checkout, but we quickly found that a discount was not calculated, so we put things back in the shopping cart and wanted to go to the cashier next to the checkout.
But we were immediately stopped by a short-haired middle-aged woman clerk. We told her that we wanted to go to the cashier. She stopped us and took out a scanner to scan the goods in our shopping cart.
Then we told her that we had a discount that was not calculated, so we wanted to go to the cashier to check out. At this time another clerk came over and told us that we needed a membership card to enjoy the discount. She brought me a discount flyer for this week, and she used her own membership card to get us a discount.
At this time, the short-haired middle-aged woman clerk swept our goods, and I thought she added all the goods to our bill. Then she let us check out. Although I saw that she repeatedly scanned some of the items we had already scanned, I still chose to trust her and check out. But I soon found out that the supermarket didn't accept the visa card. At this time, a surprising scene appeared. The short-haired middle-aged woman clerk waved the shopping list and yelled at us: You have a lot of goods not scanned! Then she pulled us aside, take out all the things in the shopping cart and call the manager.
In the few minutes waiting for the manager to come, I tried to explain to the middle-aged short-haired clerk that we just wanted to go to the cashier next to the checkout (this is what we told her at the beginning), but she ignored it, just said Someone will deal with us.
Fortunately, the manager is still polite, let us go to the nearby bank to withdraw money to check out.
I don't know if my immigrant face made this short-haired middle-aged clerk misunderstood, but I don't want to experience this shopping experience again, so I won't come back to this store again. Really, I have lived in the United States for ten years, even when I was a poor student, I have not been treated like this. If you are a foreigner like me, I suggest you stay away from...
Read moreI just was harassed out of the shop today, I was a little late ,near closing time , they didn't announce it on the speaker, as soon as I was told I hurried up to the counter, when I found a Muslim woman who works there screaming at my face for been Late wearing no mask a after asking her to wear a mask an stop yelling she told me she would not give me te groceries, I told her that was ridiculous and crazy.then she started screaming at me again with no mask, 4 people from the shop cam to see and I started filming because I felt surrounded and attacked , all 4 employees were not wearing masks , she then decided grabbed my phone and started playing with it , filming still the whole thing, I tried to get my phone back but all 4 people with no mask came running towards me , talking very near my face, I was so afraid it was an unbelievable scene , I think this has to have legal repercussions, since is obligatory to wear mask in supermarkets, I now am afraid to have caught covid because so many people were screaming at me , they did that because no one was there. I now will go to the police and seek justice for this disgusting behaviour. Is all on film and of course in the cameras at the shop, I'm appalled and disgusted I wouldn't shop there if I was you. I understand it was near closing time but this is no way to treat costumers, especially during this tough times, I was wearing a mask and was polite with everyone in the shop untill i was met by...
Read moreHere you can buy everything you need. Good prices if you take the home brand or 'basic' brand products. Very good quality overall, including cheap brands. Fresh products are really fresh (vegetables, fruits). The bread (not just from their bakery) is very tasty and stays fresh long, it's quite different from the Belgian supermarkets. The only downside is that lots of people do their shopping here, so empty shelves are no exception, especially when something is on sale or when you go here later in the day (after work). In the weekends it can get extremely busy (also on Sundays, especially from 10.30am). The employees are friendly and helpful, and the customer service is good. There is a separate counter where you can pay for your flowers for example, but that's also where you can go for the customer service. I think this is a good thing too, you never have to keep other customers waiting. I enjoy doing my shopping here, the atmosphere is very nice, I just wish I had one a little...
