The staff was friendly and the interior is pretty nice. Other than that nothing positive I’m afraid. Overpriced Pastrami Sandwich (18€) and simply not good. The combination of the challah bread with the pastrami is not a success. The bread vs. pastrami ratio is way out of balance (too much bread). Using a thinner bread in slices would be better (e.g. sourdough bread). The pastrami itself was pretty dry as well, the quality should be much better if you charge 18€. If you expect a delicious NYC style pastrami sandwich, don’t order this. For about the same price ($20) you get a huge juicy sandwich in NYC with top quality home-made pastrami slices. It’s not a shame if you can’t match the taste and quality of a NYC style pastrami sandwich but then you shouldn’t charge NYC prices either.
The chocolate babka was pretty dry as well, it seemed as it was store bought and not freshly made. This is one of my favorite desserts but this babka was unfortunately the worst I ever had. The ‘home made iced tea’ was tasty though. I had high expectations from this place but it turned out to be a...
Read moreHey guys, Just ordered my first burger from KAFFA, was pleasantly surprised. Hope you are as passionate about burgers as i am so here's an honest review. Overall great smash burger, some quality ingredients and decent technique, right amount of fats to carry the flavours and very well seasoned, i like a chef who does not fear the salt. Excellent choice of cheese which was melted beautifully between the patties. The meat was flavourful and well smashed, but was pretty 'well done' while lacking some caramelisation, would recommend putting that puppy on higher heat. Buns were fluffy without falling apart, and nicely toasted. However the Crust was a bit chewy, maybe they were made a bit in advance, or the dough might need a tweak. The only thing i was missing was a bit of acidity to really make the flavours sing. I had a delivery so i imagine it will be even better if i eat in. Anyway dont lose the passion even if it gets busy and always look for improvement. See you...
Read moreI suspect your experience will vary drastically depending on the dish you order.
We got a pita and the "Boker Tov breakfast". The pita was good, but the breakfast doesn't belong on the menu. Firstly, the description on the menu said it included "sweet spreads". Perhaps naively, given the theme and vibe of the establishment, we thought we would get something home made or at least Middle Eastern? Nope. The "sweet spreads" are individual plastic packs of Nutella, honey and jam, like you would find on an airline. I don't think these ingredients belong in the dish at all, but if you are going to serve them at least put some effort in the presentation?
The owners proudly display in their restaurant a cookbook they wrote, and some awards they won. But then they serve that? Expensive, small quantity, little effort and poor presentation. Can...
