The trains from Brussels are always very busy . Completed 1939 functional station but not beautiful with all the bus connections outside in Station forecourt. Buses 1 and 2 go into the centre if it is raining but almost as quick to walk in, The walking route cross Stationsplein, cross main road R30 / Buitens Begijnenvest on crossings into Oostmeers follow this road, then right into Zonnekemeers over the canal on the Walbrug the road then becomes Walstraat, at end of this road left into Katelijnestraat crossing the canal, bends left which becomes Mariastraat, then right along Onze Lieve (O.L.) Vrouwekerkhof Zuid, just before the church, cross canal St Bonifacius Bridge (photograph stop), left up Groeninge which doglegs around a small park up to Dijver and turn right walk on to Rozenhoedkaai boat landing quay and there left follow canalside along Huidenvettersplein, becomes Steenhowersdyjk left over bridge into Blinde Ezelbrug bridge which leads into into.Blinde Ezelstraat, blind donkey alley (yes really!) and at the end you are in central Brugge. next to the town hall (Ststshuis). Welcome to central Brugge! This route is not recommended if you are towing wheeled luggage, unless really sturdy, as it is over cobbles the whole way, also can be a bit slippery in the wet if you are not that steady walking...
   Read moreHaving been dumped by our coach company outside this station, we were left with the choice of waiting there overnight or taking a train for the remainder of our journey. We ventured in, a little daunted as to how to complete our journey. Luckily for us, and the rest of our dumpees, it seems they have experienced this before. We were greeted in the ticketing area by a very friendly and helpful member of staff who operated the ticket machine for us, told us what train we needed and what stop to change on.
