In The Mood - dinner in the park — Restaurant in Bruges

It was definitely NOT “in the mood”. The place itself looks nice, my husband and I wanted to have cocktails not in the very center, we found this terrace. First, no one warns you in advance that it turns out that you cannot choose only drinks. When you sit down at the table, the waiter tells you in an unpleasant manner that you MUST order food. In principle, we were not against it, although the form of communication itself was unpleasant. We chose appetizers and later wanted to see the main course, as we decided that we would have lunch here. But then the waiter said that each person at the table MUST order 2 starters. Can you imagine, MUST! Again, all this is in an unpleasant form, as if you were basically punished for entering this terrace in the first place. And we didn’t want 4 STARTERS. And it doesn’t matter whether you order the main dish or not. But ok… We ordered 4 starters and ate, but the mood was ruined. Naturally, we will not come here a second time. We have never encountered anything like this before. They could have done it differently, written information somewhere or warned when booking or at least when people arrived. But no, you will find out everything factually and in rough form at the moment when you relax and going to enjoy. I don’t like disrespect for people and rudeness, so I thought that I would definitely write a detailed review of this place.

On the terrace itself there was a smell of sewerage, as there was a ditch dug nearby, and mosquitoes were biting. The terrace canopy is full of holes...

My husband and I just had dinner at this restaurant and to say it was one of the strangest experiences so far, it just turned out to be quite disappointing. We arrived 10 minutes early for our booking and were seated and had ordered within 10mins. we didn’t order any starters or entrees, just our mains. It took over an hour for our food to arrive and when I asked the waitress where our meals were she said they give extra time in between courses, but we didn’t have any other courses just the two steaks. The other tables around us that arrived more than 30mins after us had all gotten their first course or mains throughout our time waiting. At the end when paying for the bill or our plates getting taken we were not asked how our meals were or any excuse, while the other tables around us were asked or any excuse or apology as to why our meals took so long. It made us feel that because we were not local or from Europe (we are English speaking Australians) that we annoyed the staff, just felt like poor service and lack of communication. On a Saturday night they managed to fit us in at the last minute. Thank goodness, we were staying in the hotel so it was very simple and easy to eat here. The menu is a perfect size, enough to find variety and not too much to confuse the eater. We had 4 tapas dishes which were huge, be aware two of these world have been enough for 4 to share. We had mussels and salads for main courses and plenty of drinks. The service was exceptional, very friendly and personable. The owners are siblings and both served us. The rapport they had with their staff was clear to see and really lovely. Everyone seemed very happy and we're working so hard. We loved it dinner and retiring to the bar area to continue our evening. It was fantastic. It is pricy, however it's worth every penny....
