Brussels Market — Local services in Brussels

This market is decent when it comes to groceries; you can find almost everything. But the butcher service is absolutely terrible. I was waiting for my turn, asked politely for some meat and wanted it divided into three pieces. The butcher flat-out refused, ignored me, and wouldn’t speak a word of English or Dutch. Before me he served others who spoke French with him exactly the way they wanted. That’s pure disrespect and discrimination. We live in a multilingual country and Dutch is an official language and English is international, there’s no excuse for that behavior. I’m disgusted by the attitude and lack of respect. I’ll never buy meat from this...

A big Turkish supermarket with a wide range of products , everything is HALAL except the "nic nac"s with Sugar on top. They contain non-halal gelatine!

Fruits are Sometimes rotting outside and alot of Thieves go there and steal from the shop as there is no security , nothing. You can just go in and out from the entrance?! Also drunk people like to come and cause trouble there as there is no security offcourse.

As for range of products it's perfect and you have different kinds of fresh bread and even a Butcher for all the meat you want even halal rabbit.

In general it could be a perfect shop if the issues with security and cleanliness...

Good prices and a huge selections of spices, varied deli counter (might I point out it is a Halal store and as such you won't find pork products here, though there are nice substitutes). Wheelchair/stroller friendly. Staff is friendly enough and make an effort to speak English so good for tourists on a budget.
