Sel and Miel — Restaurant in Brussels

I've travelled to Brussels twice now over the past few months and I make sure I come to this restaurant as often as possible. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. They are efficient and fast when it comes to service and I haven't had to wait very long even on a busy night. A couple people from the staff know fluent English so the language barrier was never an issue. I have also ordered takeout from here and it was very quick. I am obsessed with their fried chicken burger and fries, I could eat it every single week! If you are ever in the area for this restaurant, I highly recommend to the fullest extent. The atmosphere is very versatile as it is family friendly but also nice enough that I would go on a late-night date here for food or for a dessert crepe. I love this restaurant so much and I can't wait to come...

Un endroit convivial quoique légèrement bruyant, j’ai itérativement eu l’impression de manger dans une cantine. Je ne comprends pas les éloges sur le service. Pour ma part, j’attends systématiquement de longues minutes pour alpaguer un serveur et lui proposer de prendre éventuellement notre commande. La dernière fois, c’est dehors sur la terrasse que nous avons patienté 30 min par une nuit presque polaire pour qu’on se souvienne de nous en nettoyant la table jouxtant la nôtre. Aujourd’hui, on nous demande s’il est possible de déplacer notre table et avant même qu’on réponde, le serveur exécute sa manœuvre. Ce n’est pas du tout professionnel. Je comprends qu’on soit débordé mais pas qu’on soit malpoli. L’endroit n’a pas pignon sur rue mais nous y venions car nous apprécions ses desserts. C’est vraiment dommage de perdre des clients de la sorte. Il y a un véritable travail à faire sur le service. De grands établissements, avec un flux de clients qui n’a rien à envier au vôtre, se débrouillent pour que le client soit servi de manière optimale. Si vous êtes fréquemment débordé, engagez un personnel en conséquence ou formez vous adéquatement. Par ailleurs, ne pas proposer de paiement par Bancontact à notre ère est suspect si pas illégal. Je n’ai pas de notions en la matière mais je sais que je ne me balade pas toujours avec des espèces en poche. C’est irritant de devoir gagner le distributeur le plus proche pour une raison par ailleurs inconnue. Néanmoins et comme dit plus haut, vos desserts sont bons par contre....

We came for the pancakes, which were recommended to us by friends. They were served in a different form than the one I was familiar with. The portion was very large, we could barely eat. Very interesting form. The pancakes were tasty. The decor of the restaurant very cozy and thoughtful. Inside a lot of customers which speaks for itself. It is worth a visit and see it and taste it! :)
