Il parco è disposto in leggera pendenza. Una pista ciclabile e pedonale lo attraversa. Il 10 novembre 2019 in questo parco è stato piantato un albero di noce giapponese (ginkgo biloba). Questo albero è cresciuto da un seme di ginkgo sopravvissuto al bombardamento atomico di Hiroshima il 6 agosto 1945. I semi di ginkgo di Hiroshima vengono distribuiti in tutto il mondo dal sindaco di quella città, in segno di pace e di lotta contro le armi nucleari .

Per ongeluk uitgekomen op deze site terwijl er buurtfeesten aan de gang waren; de Mariarchfeesten. Wat ik wel wist is dat de oude St.Baafs abdij daar vroeger was en dat dit stukje Gent het oudste stuk Gent is waar er nog overblijfselen zijn van het jaar 1011!!! Je kan de ruïnes nog steeds bezoeken zonder reservatie. Dit alles kan je bewonderen in een prachtig groene omgeving. Voor wie van cultuur houdt is dat ideaal te combineren met een bezoek aan het S.T.A.M. Op die manier ontdek je het ontstaan van Gent en heb je je dag weer nuttig...
