This guest room is a great relaxed space that feels like a private suite in someone’s home. ||We stayed in room 3 with the balcony and stunning view of Tsarevets castle. Some utility wires are at lower roof levels of the view. ||||A big, comfy king-sized bed awaits, but the ‘rough-grade’ cotton sheets and pillow covers might disappoint. ||||The room was reasonably clean and greets you with the subtle firewood-scented aroma of a traditional Bulgarian home. The shower and bathroom is a good size for two and has minimal soap, towels and toiletries. WiFi signal is strong.||||The son of the owner speaks English and is helpful. When you arrive, just keep walking up the steps until you see the Reception sign. ||||The castle is walkable about 10-15 minutes away and a great spot for a picnic lunch. || ||The location is great in old-town and walkable to everything. This artisan village has everything you’ll need for food-stuffs just steps away. Try the excellent Bulgarian pastry, Banitska for breakfast at ‘Bread House’ on 33 Rakovski Str. Walk a little further for some Turkish coffee at 13 Rakovski Str. where you can sit out front and watch the world go by.||||You’ll also find a store for deli meats, drinks, yogurts and snacks a few steps further. Be sure to try some local Bulgarian wine or selections from Argentina, Chile, and Australia. ||||Tips:||Travel light if you can, or don’t mind schlepping your bags up steps and rolling them over cobles. It is a car-free zone (to non residents?) so your taxi may not take you all the way in. Fortunately ours did. Bring a corkscrew and your favorite tea or instant coffee; there are cups and a kettle waiting in the room.||||A kitchenette and an upgrade to 400 thread count bed sheets would make this stay the best.|| ||Prices for food and restaurants in town are reasonable. We tried Ego Bar and Grill at at 17, Nezavisimost St. with great views of the castle and city. We had Chopska salad large pizza, a ½ carafe of wine and a ½ liter of water for about 20 leva. Good vibe, good food.||||Veliko Turnovo has an international vibe with a good night life driven by university students and a large expat community from pensioners from England and others around the...
Read moreWe just returned from our stay at Bela Neda Hotel. The quality and the environment provided there are amazing. Specious rooms, amazing view, very quit and beautiful. The hosts at the hotel were very friendly and attentive.|||| The beautiful family hotel is only a couple of minutes walk from all main attractions, and is situated straight at the heart of the classical Turnovo city. |||| Would highly recommend to anybody looking for style, peaceful rest, and well deserved attitude.|||| On my behalf I want to thank everybody at the hotel and for sure to state that I will be back with my sweetheart there pretty...
Read moreThe room was large, with one double bed and one single bed. The property has a nice garden, but it was cold when we went there so we didn't take advantage of it. It is very close to city center and a nice 15 min or so walk to the castle. Also, there is a free parking area near Bela Neda (first come, first served, no reservation needed, and parking is a big issue in Veliko Tarnovo). The only minus is that heating is based on A/C and if you turn it off, it might get cold in the room on winter season, but the stuff there will surely help you with an extra fan heater if you ask for it....
