Be careful, the guy who I suspect is the owner is a scammer. I should've paid more attention to the bill when I was checking out, but didn't realise until the following day at home. The younger guys in their late teens and early 20s were quick to help me get a pair of skates, but when I told them they were hurting my son I got a dirty look and was left to find replacements myself when the employee walked off.
The owner, in his mid to late 40s will rip you off if you don't pay close attention. I purchased two pairs of used children's skates. Both identical Bauer skates, same model, same condition, one was a size 10 the other a size 12. The size 12 were priced at 24.99 (a fair price). I didn't notice the owner key in price of 39.99 for the size 10 pair. The size 10 weren't previously priced out so he quickly keyed in a price inflated by $15 compared to the other skates I purchased - and every other pair similar in the store. That'll be my last time going to this store.
**Edit: 2nd response: The one pair of skates had a price tag on them at 24.99. The smaller size ten pair, for some reason did not have a price tag on them. One would think the size 10 youth would be priced similarly to the size 12 youth as they were the same Bauer Supreme skate in comparable condition. You can't even argue that you didn't know the price on the size 12 because they were keyed into the computer first. Then a price of 39.99 was created for the second unmarked pair. Oh well, my loss, I suppose - I should've been more diligent in questioning the prices. I guess I'm too trusting. Unfortunately I don't live in the area, so it's not worth the travel expenses and time to attempt to resolve it in person. Gotta love how it's the customer's responsibility to resolve the issue of a sketchy business transaction - and Heaven forbid the customer puts an honest review on the internet for the...
Read moreWorst store. 0 stars. I used to have a good impression, but now I realize it was only because I spent more money there before. Today I went in and bought something less expensive, and their attitude was awful. The lady manager acted as if it was my honor to shop in their store. They are dishonest. Even when they clearly tell you something, they don’t honor it at checkout. I will never shop at this store again.
New: Regarding the store's reply: "You purchased a single pair of skates and a mouth guard. At checkout, you requested free laces and free skate sharpening."
This statement is not accurate. The pair of skates I purchased came with laces that were nearly broken. Initially, the salesperson assured me that I would receive a new pair of laces, as the existing ones were not usable. However, once the manager (a woman) arrived, this was changed.
The salesperson had also confirmed that free skate sharpening would be included, as the store was closing and they were offering it as a courtesy. Yet, at checkout, this was also reversed. Suddenly, various excuses were made, as though I was trying to take advantage of the situation.
The manager even spoke to me in a lecturing tone, which I found inappropriate and unprofessional. I urge store management to take this issue seriously and ensure that proper customer service training is provided, especially for those in management roles.
If a promise is made to a customer, it should be honored. I have been a loyal customer of this store for years and have spent hundreds of dollars here. My main concerns are the lack of honesty and the attitude of the manager during this interaction.
In this case, for just $10, you've lost me as a customer, for what could have been hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in...
Read moreFirst off I haven't been skating for at least 30 years (I told Farzin that). However when growing up I was on skates at least 5 times /week (hockey etc.) I'm tough to fit because of my wide feet and told him that also. I needed skates to skate with my grandchildren and have some fun. Farzin was very confident he could make me happy and I would leave with a pair of skates that fit (yea right). I asked for Farzin when I went to the store and was shocked at the treatment I got from him and Chris. He had me try on at least 6 pairs of skates and made me walk around ensuring a fit. The last pair were CCM and as soon as he tied them up they were sold. Not yet he said...walk around for 10 minutes to be sure. Which I did and they were the ones. An hour plus later I left the store with a pair of skates that fit. All I can say is WOW what an experience. 5+ stars for that. Farzin can count on me telling everyone I know. On a footnote he also told me it would be like riding a bike and it would all come back.....He forgot to tell me "with training wheels". ...
