Went to moody cow pub tonight may 5 with some friends I do not write reviews and I’m a very lenient and understanding person when it comes to slow service and etc but tonight’s dine in experience bad. Servers were nice and I don’t blame them for what went wrong. We came in at 8 we took a while to order because we were waiting for two members of our party once they arrived we ordered immediately. That’s when we started waiting and waiting and waiting. Servers were not updating us on where the food was or how long it was gonna take. We waited for I would say an hour and a half nearing two hours. We were debating on just leaving and going to another restaurant until we finally got word on our food after an over an hour. The server said it was coming out shortly and apologized. After that memo it took around 15-20 min for our whole table to have received our food. And it was for lack of better words NOT good. My friends burger was raw, A lot of us were hungry so we just ate the food since we waited so long anyways. But it wasn’t worth the price and especially not worth the extremely long wait. My table was rightfully upset, and I was surprised that no one offered any sort of comp for having us wait such a ridiculously long time. None of us are one to ask for a comp or complain, but it was so bad we had to mention it to the server. The owner then came out and his approach towards us was aggressive and condescending. Felt like my friends and I were being lectured and also not being taken seriously, at this point we just wanted to leave. He ended up comping one of my friends meal which was the raw burger, and a small discount on my bill since my other friends had already paid. I hate to be harsh but this has been one of the worst dine in experiences I’ve ever had. My friends and I left extremely dissatisfied and also uncomfortable. Hoping this was a bad night for them because I had high hopes but after tonight we will not...
Read moreWe arrived at the doors to the Moody Cow Pub on St. Patrick's day. We had no idea how popular the Moody Cow is. The Pub had a full house with reservations recommended for Friday nights but surely mandatory on Saint Patrick's day. When the Hostess, Lilly greeted us, we told her we didn't have reservations. Lilly told us to wait as ahe spoke with Mitch who I believe is the Manager, to see if they could accommodate us. Mitch came over and said he had a table reserved for 8:30 pm. It was 6:30 and Mitch said if we were willing to leave by 8:30 we could use the reserved table. We graciously accepted his terms and were led to our seats. 5 Star Hospitality. I ordered a Guinness and Deanna ordered the special drink of the evening called Crock-O-Gold. For food Deanna ordered the Sheppard's / Cottage Pie and I ordered the Irish Stew. The stew came with a deep rich depth of flavour and a biscuit on the side. The cottage pie came with a mashed potatoe top that outweighed the filling by about 4-1. The filling was moist but Deanna said he he tatters could benefit from a side of gravy. If sha had half the potatoe serving it would receive a 5 but as it was the food gets a 4.5. We will see on our next visit. While we were there Johnathan the owner was works ng the room greeting everyone. When he arrived at our table he gifted us some Saint Patrick's Day swag. 5 Star Atmosphere. Deanna and I look forward to returning and are confident the next rating will be all 5's. Thank you Lilly, Mitch, and Billy for a...
Read moreA couple of my friends and I decided to venture to Moody Cow on Saturday (Feb 4th). I double checked their menu prior too and noticed they had gluten free pizza. I was SOO excited.
The staff were friendly and were prompt to take our orders. I have eaten here before and knew that food takes a little bit longer to come out, no problem. I couldn't wait to try the GF pizza.
Our drinks came and went, appetizers got delivered and finished quickly. Mussels were good. The rest of the table enjoyed the fresh bread.
After about 20mins of sitting at the table we ordered another L of wine and waited for the main course.
The server comes out to inform me, they no longer have GF pizza. I was upset. A) I specifically made sure this restaurant would have something I could eat. b) I have waited for well over an hour now, only to be told NOW? Clearly a communication error.
I end up suggesting to just order nachos for myself - again limited in what i can get. Its fine. Ill go with that.
10mins goes by, server comes back out and tells me they ran out of Nachos....
I end up getting brussel sprouts for dinner - so far removed from what I specifically came to this restaurant for.
None of my meal was compensated, the communication between the kitchen staff and servers needs to be improved. I should not have waited that long to be told my meal wouldn't be coming. I would have come back another time.
Super disappointed is an understatement. (I give it two stars because everyone else enjoyed...
