My daughter and i were at the Bancroft Gemboree yesterday. We came up from Petawawa. Before heading back home we decided to get a bite to eat. We noticed The Chocolate Rabbit and decided to check it out after our lunch. Are we ever glad we did. We picked up some truffles and fudge. We started with the truffles while still in the car in the parking lot lol. Oh my, what delight! We then tried the fudge. We were in heaven! We've never tasted such velvety fudge. The way they just melt in your mouth. And the truffles were perfect. I've never had chocolate with the perfect amount of crisp yet soft and the flavours were amazing. We've been telling all those who will listen about your place. Some who frequent the Gemboree every year had no idea about you. I'm happy, in a way, that you are not closer to us. We'd easily put on 500 lbs lol. Well done! We applaud your craft in making these tasty delights and will definitely stop in whenever we are in the area. It was a perfect way to end our already amazing day.
Looking forward in...
Read moreSadly, recent new owner verbally berated people outside her store who were lining up on sidewalk for food bank charity drive at tattoo parlor, witnessed by many. Claiming they were blocking the sidewalk. They were not and could have easily been walked through. Local shops including this one had been informed many days in advance, this was the only one to do this to people. Quality of chocolate is hard to support when business won't support others trying to help the needy.
Especially in a small town. Unsure as to why owner would have done this when they had a whole line of people to offer samples and sell to. Which would have been a much better thing to do with that line.
Didn't want to review bomb this place but explain the situation, so 3 stars. Grew up in this town, seen how hard the economy has hit some here, so anyone that fights a food bank drive isn't making friends no matter their excuse.
There are many other welcoming businesses in town to serve your needs. Please...
Read moreI am pretty disappointed with my last visit this Saturday. I assume it’s changed ownership as it’s always been an amazing experience. The fudge used to come in these cute boxes with little spoons, now it’s just lame clear plastic. Even the fudge tastes off. We get the same kind every year and it tastes nothing like it did. The normal happy atmosphere has also changed. We felt like we were being watched while looking around. Then on our way out it was confirmed. I wanted my child to get a picture with the statues at the front and the woman kept looking over when my child got closer to the statue as if they would smash it, although my child was just walking calmly. It was a very...
