Great place to go. Whether you’re a couple solo or with a family who doesn’t like shiny rocks everybody. You get to learn about all the cool stuff in the area you get to see all kinds of maps. This was a lot of fun. I found it completely informative and then I ended up going rock hounding. I didn’t even know that Bancroft was like the rock capital of Ontario. I went there just to go swimming ended up, fighting a lot of cool rocks and having a lot of fun missions with my partner maybe drove them a little too crazy because I’m a magpie. Seriously you end up just taking a hammer to every single kind of shiny rock you see. You’re like are you a fossil? Is there quarts in there? Super exciting and fun

Very unique museum with dedicated designs. It is free to enter. Thanks to bancroft city hall. There is a demo stage to show mining works. There is also a special dark room to show the lighting of rocks.

This museum is no longer free or by donation. Website is misleading. Very small for price.

A Nice Gem of a Museum In Bancroft As part of our long road trip to Bruce Peninsula we decided to pay a visit to the Town of Bancroft back in Aug 2022. The first attraction we visited was the museum. The mineral exhibit was quite interesting with fine collections of rocks, minerals, gems, and other items. Staff was helpful and friendly. It was not as big as we imagined so we only spend maybe 30 min but the entrance fees were reasonable. Highly recommended for people who are curious about minerals in the region and...

It was a wonderful experience learning about Bancroft, it's history, it's rich mineral resources. Mary-the manager/incharge of the museum was so nice to explain to us a lot about Bancrodts history and answer my family's questions. She and the staff obviously are super dedicated to the museum. Anyone visiting Bancroft must visit. My 3rd...
