I had one of the worst experiences of my life at Walmart today. I arrived at 9:40 PM, with the store closing at 10. We were in a hurry to finish our shopping, but as we were checking out, a Filipino employee at the front stopped us, claiming we hadn’t scanned a bag of flour and a box of Kraft Dinner. It turns out I had indeed forgotten to scan the flour by mistake. Instead of just handling it quickly, she insisted on scanning every single one of our 50+ items again, only to find we had also missed a bag of carrots and some Takis.
As a Canadian citizen, I’m incredibly disappointed by this experience. I understand that employees have a job to do, but I feel this was handled poorly, especially when the store was about to close. Meanwhile, I see people stealing regularly, and security, which is often just standing around doing nothing, doesn’t seem to care. The store is always a mess, with piles of restocking everywhere, and it feels like nobody actually wants to work in such a disorganized environment.
What frustrated me the most was that the employee wasted both our time and hers by making us rescan everything, instead of simply charging us for the missed items. A smart employee eventually came to assist her, but she didn’t even ask for help, and the manager just stood by watching, not offering any guidance or support. It makes me wonder what these managers even do. The filipino lady never apologized for what she did to me.
I’m extremely disappointed in this Walmart, and after this experience, I doubt they’ll ever see my face again. I thought things would improve if I returned to this Walmart, but I was wrong. Today was just another frustrating experience, much like last week. During that visit, the female manager, who was Black, acted like she was running a bank. She refused to accept my $20 bill because it wasn’t “clear enough” for her liking. It felt completely unreasonable, as if she thought she owned the place.
It’s frustrating when you go to Walmart expecting normal service, but instead encounter this kind of behavior. When people receive change, the bills aren’t always in pristine condition, so her attitude was completely over the top.
Just to be clear, I’m not racist, and I’m not crazy. But these experiences are making me seriously reconsider ever shopping at this location again
My old review (I really like this Walmart because it’s convenient to my location. However, I’ve noticed a significant issue with theft. Just this afternoon at 8:05, I saw five people stealing. It seems like there should be more security measures in place. The security guards are often just standing around, likely because they’re busy with the ongoing renovations.
I want to acknowledge that the black security guard at the front door works really hard to keep homeless people from coming inside. However, as soon as he goes on break or steps away, they all come back in. It would be helpful if Walmart could implement more consistent security to address these issues.
I’m not sure who handles the hiring here, but they need to be more selective during the interview process. Most of the workers don’t seem to care about what’s going on. Better hiring practices could improve the overall environment and address some of the issues.

Incident # 1. I did make an online order for pickup at this location. I had to wait for upto an hour for the online order staff to lookup and bring the items to front customer service. And then the customer service manager told me to call them an hour before coming to the store's customer service department. I said to her that it is her job to train them to inform the procedure to aboid delay information in their left voicemail message to customer.
Incident # 2: I had to return some online ordered items within the return policy timeline to this store. I spent at least two hour to be able to return the online ordered items. I had to literally train and educate the online order team member and the in-store customer service team member regarding the online order return which was getting blocked due to the incorrect dates of delivery and pickup of each of shipped items in their online system. And finally when one of the online staff member understood the issue and was trying to fix it by overriding the in-store computer system, then the in-store staff member started creating confusing arguments that the in-store staff knows everything and what the online store staff is doing will not solve the problem. And then when I intervened between the two arguing staff members then finally overriding the in-store customer service computer system solved the problem. And I was able to return atlast.
Incident # 3: Honestly, they have a terrible customer service department. Most of the times when I specifically try to return an item, they ask so many annoying questions and make it complicated and terrible customer experience with the level of customer service they perform. I'm talking about worst customer service and worst customer experience, forget about customer satisfaction and customer courtesy. Just today I had to return a lamp within its return policy of 90 days. But the customer service staff started harassing me saying it seems like its been used. I said of course I have to try and test it out and then decide if I like it or not. And thats how customers decide and that's why it's policy to satisfy customers. Then she started making false allegations and assumptions that its dusty when it wasn't and that I was using for a whole month and I shouldn't be using it. Then I said when did I say I used it for a month and there is no dust on it at all and it is in original packing and I can return it with in 90 days and it was just sitting in the box for about a month but that doesn't mean I was using it. When the manager came to stop the argument, I told her that she was making assumptions and then falsely accusing me for using the lamp for a month. Then she totally denied all of that. Then I told her that she is now lying and left with the returned receipt and refund. Such a waste of my time and energy with gross staff at this store.
At other walmarts they even have customer courtesy to return an item with no receipt as an exception and customer courtesy but at this walmart store they harass customers for returning within the return policy of 90 days and after providing the original receipts. Such an awful customer experiences I had...
Read moreI have been in and shopped from hundreds of Walmarts in my life I have shopped at many (tens of thousands of) a store. I do not appreciate any staff member to aggressively pursue me thinking that I stole something simply because it has become far too common in the world particularly at this location.
I am a happy paying customer I could not locate my receipt as I was walking out of the store because the way I cut through the lineup this staff member pursued me calling security basically calling me a thief.
Not basically yes stop ✋ him he said. 🗣️ Like the items that I carried I stole. 🥷
It’s very offensive to a Freedom Crusader someone like me (author of 𝑬𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒊𝒏 vs. Ḟṛäṅḳëṅṡẗëïṅ HOW TO CONQUER—SELF who has such offence against people who constantly steal from me.
It breaks every one of my court values as stated on DanMonahan.ca 4th tab down.
And in my book From Chained to Change
I am me
I’m one of a kind.
But everybody else should be of like mind.
If it’s not yours, don’t touch it.
Don’t steal from me I promise to never steal from you.
But much worse than stealing from me is claiming that I stole from you when I just finished purchasing these items from your store.
I did not get the man’s name that was working at the self checkout station. On February 26, 2025.
Because he threatened.
Because he claimed.
I stole all these items from your store.
Is this the type of representation that Walmart wants to have?
It’s not like the things that I was carrying were worth a lot of money $16 altogether. I didn’t carry a bag.
I forgot to bring my bags.
Even though I’m a millionnaire I refuse to spend $.35 on one more bag.
So I was carrying my three items by hand. With one in my pocket already.
I think you need to do a better job of training your employees and having good customer relations with their paying customers.
Because without people like me that man wouldn’t be able to be an employee of this great worldwide, organization, and business that provides essential services or items to people that are in need for a fair price.
But now I’ve been so offended by this man I won’t return to this Walmart again.
I can shop anywhere.
I don’t need to stop here.
I have two other options. On my way home. They don’t require any extra time.
Now, my average gross of $300 per month I spend on groceries and other things will be spent at a different store.
What do you have to say for yourself Walmart?
Are you even going to reply to this comment?
Are you going to do anything about this? Probably Not.
I’ve noticed that management doesn’t seem to do a good job of training employees and there’s a ripple effect worldwide.
Do better. Be better. Then everyone will be better.
Thank you 🙏 I love you 🥰 Love 𝑫𝒂𝒏 🕺🏽 the 𝐌𝐚𝐧 💪...
