One of the Worst Candy Store Experiences - Not Kid-Friendly at All
Took my two small kids (ages 3 and 5) and their grandparents to this candy store, expecting a fun outing. Instead, we were greeted with the coldest, most unpleasant atmosphere. The woman working there didn’t crack a smile the entire time. My kids were naturally excite, like any kids would be in a candy store, but each time they accidentally dropped a packaged candy on the floor, she looked at them like they’d shattered a priceless vase. It was uncomfortable and completely unnecessary.
To make things worse, while I was using tongs (as instructed) for the loose candy bins, I reached into a bin of already pre-bagged live wires, thinking it was fine since other pre-wrapped items were out for hand-picking. She immediately snapped, “Please use tongs!” even though it made absolutely no sense in this context. The rules seemed arbitrary and delivered with attitude.
We spent nearly $30 on candy, and not once did we feel welcome. You’d think for a store that relies on families and children, there’d be some basic friendliness. But no, just icy stares and tension. After we left, everyone in our group agreed: she was miserable and clearly in the wrong line of work. My parents had visited the day before to scope it out and noticed the same thing, unwelcoming and cold. Definitely not a one-off.

Read moreI witnessed an unfortunate incident during my visit to the store. An Asian family was inside buying candy when a staff member accused a young child of reaching into the candy. Despite the child not touching the gumballs, the father was overcharged for them. This situation felt extremely unprofessional and created an awkward atmosphere in the store. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this place. The reason I mentioned that they were Asian is because you could tell that the true staff members were racist towards them.

Read moreI don't know if I dealt with the owner or what not but I came in there at around closing well about 20 minutes before I don't know much about candy so I was asking her questions and just put a whole bunch of candy bars and suites together. When it was time to check outshe said it was $180 I simply asked her if I could come back tomorrow and revise my order possibly changing things and maybe even add other things since I only had about 15 minutes to browse before closing anyway this woman was completely rude after I said can you save this order she basically told me to get out of her store like what the hell kind of business and customer service is this anyway I don't know if this lady just works there or if she is a part owner or franchise owner but she is extremely rude and if she treat your customers this way especially newbies then I don't see how these guys can stay in business much longer sure they have a lot of candy selection and a lot of candy bars you can't get in Canada but the price is certainly marked up anyway I won't be going here again maybe this is just my experience with them but I felt really really uncomfortable when she told me to leave the store all I asked was that she holdmy order until tomorrow because I didn't have enough time to revise the items I wanted since they were closing zero out...
