II won’t be going back due to very lazy parenting I truly hope the rink gets a ref or an ice manager as it was just embarrassing and upsetting to see so many unmonitored kids under no control. BUT the establishment is a very nice place they have nice changing rooms , the floor scrapes into your skates pretty rough but it is soft and meant for skates still! I came here for a public skate with my partner we just started skating and have been having a blast learning , however it was more difficult at this location as someone must have been throwing a party or something ! There was about 15-20 kids on the ice and only 8 adults .. 2 were a couple no kids 1 was an older man another was a father and a man in hockey pads so I am not sure why on earth there was so many little ones I really hope if your a parent reading this you watch your kids a little better as these ones were racing the wrong direction in the rink, throwing gloves, intentionally ramming into others and so much more disrespectful/dangerous behaviour , we left early as it was quite overloaded with unwatched children .. I won’t be going back here because of this as I do not wish to trip due to one of these indicents . Thanks to all the parents that took care of their kids out here last night you guys are the only reason I stayed as long as I did .. no one should ever be throwing anything in the rink let alone a 7-10 year old child without parents . Whoever left their lot here at 6:30 on the 3rd needs child services or a village for that collection !!!! I’m sure hockey and more monitored events are phenomal here though it’s a gorgeous and...
Read moreNot going to lie, I’m probably going to come off a bit biased with this review considering I skate here once a week. I wouldn’t consider this the best arena in the city but I do think it’s the perfect simple community arena. Sure it has its drawbacks like the small parking lot but I’ve never had an issue with street parking. Some people complain about the locker room size, showers and the fact that the automatic door only opens 50% of the time but what really counts is that the ice is generally in great condition, the gates work and you have plenty of room...
Read moreIce is well maintained, but it's an older arena, with the small locker rooms typical of the age. But it's been updated inside (waterbottle filler, hand dryers) and is kept pretty clean. Parking is often in short supply, and the viewing area is pretty small (but big enough, and there are heaters for spectators). Don't be surprised if the candy machine...
