La Bodeguita Hamilton — Restaurant in Hamilton

My first time shopping there, because I heard they have good deals on meat in bulk. I ordered combo 1, which is supposed to come with 5 lbs ground beef, 5 lbs chicken leg quarters, 3 lbs chicken breast (bone in and skin on), 2 lbs chuck roast, 2 lbs bacon. All the weights were incorrect, and not by a little either. I only got 3.8 lbs of ground beef, 4.4 lbs of chicken legs, 1.9 lbs of breasts, 2.3 lbs chuck roast (the only one that weighed extra, however doesn't make up for the losses), and 1.4 lbs bacon. I could understand why the breasts were underweight, as they were still attached to some of the whole carcass, but the ground beef, bacon, and legs easily could've been corrected by adding in more.

Despite all this, I still got 13.8 lbs of meat for $60, which is still a good deal. I only ate the chicken breasts so far, and the quality is definitely better than the average grocery store chicken, the texture is noticeably more tender. I'm just disappointed about this error, it almost seemed deliberate since everything was the wrong weight, as if they thought I was too dumb to weigh everything, and it also implies false advertising. I'll probably continue shopping there, but I will definitely bring up this error next time and will hope my next...

This will be the 3rd time that we call before we arrive to make sure there is enough time to order and each time we arrive before the kitchen closes, we sre told there is not enough time to serve us. Please take in account that this place closes at 7pm and we arrived there at 5:40pm just to be sure and yet we were let down once again. All because whatever they were doing in the back was more important than taking our order. I'm all about not making a big deal about stuff like this but truthfully, if you set the expectation that the kitchen will close 2 hours before the store does then maybe you'de get more referrals. If you want to close early, simply let me know when I call instead of telling me that we are good to place an order as long as its before 6pm. Its not like you have places for people to sit and hold you back from closing on time. And though I appreciate your response below, I must remind you that I even said I was ok waiting and that I would even drive around for 30 minutes if I had to. But then suddenly you said, "you know what, we won't be able to serve you". Shockingly good and authentic. Like a lot of folks, I could never have imagined myself going in this place after driving by so many times. Well, say what you will about the delivery apps, but they gave me the chance to see and read the menu for La Bodeguita and with so many authentic mexican favourites and even Salvadoran pupusas, we had to order despite my reservations about their curb appeal. These are tacos like you would get on the streets of Mexico. Classic meats prepared with care for hours added to a double-layer soft corn taco with onions and cilantro. Lime and green (tomatillo?) salsa on the side. Simply perfect. Yes the Barbicoa is worth the $1 extra splurge. I could go on about the other dishes we've since tried, but I don't want to spoil it for you. Just go order....
