Andthenyou — Local services in Hamilton

Side note: This review is not directed at Andthenyou, but rather one of the events they allow hosted here called Fascination, by yours truly, Babette De Jong.

How does it feel hosting a mean girls event like Fascination?

The staff of these events are extremists. Lastnight I was kicked out based on internet drama. I did absolutely NOTHING at the club that was worthy of kicking me out. I was not drunk, wasn't violent, did not heckle nor cause any fights between anyone. I was just there with a few friends dancing, vibing and hanging out like anyone else who was there.

Fasination is from 10pm til 2am. At 1am a blue haired woman with facial piercings, near 5.3, looked 40. She came up to me whilst in the club, and then asked me to join her outside for a chat.

She proceeded to claim that she had evidence of me being a fatphobic, xenophobe, racist and homophobic person.

All meanwhile I am a bisexual indigenous woman! Oh and I am 40 pounds overweight so I'm fat... anyways.. I have blood relatives who are gay, and if I were so frightened of the LGBTQ-anything, I certainly would NOT be there. Do you even know the definition of phobia? Clearly not. Said evidence was not given, nor would she tell me who made these claims!!! She then told me that they have a "private group" where they keep track of peoples socials, etc. Yikes, stalkers.

The staff are bullies, gatekeepers and this experience was absolutely unfair, ridiculous and gave off nitpicking energy.

Do better, because this is NOT a universal...

Came out from the city to meet some friends for their Thursday Fascination night and was blown away by the ambiance, crowd and the inability to stay off the dance floor! Ran into friends I had not seen in over a decade and met so many like minded people in this really open, inclusive and safe place. The djs took turns and showcased a wide assortment of amazing beats that kept the party amazing! Ms GothicFish (who we actually came to see after reading some rad reviews) was such an awesome vibe, living up to all we heard and Deadlights just shot out pounding beats that although different, rolled the night into a giant ball of fun! Will definitely come out again!!! Thank you to all that made this...

Charlotte is the manager at and then you and is the most wonderful bartender I’ve ever encountered at a bar before. She was wonderful and provided wonderful drinks all night and even cut me off when i had too much which i much appreciated. Wonderful conversationalist and very competent in how the people attending her bar were at any given time. Also wonderful with chatting with and very kind to all people coming in. Highly recommend this bar as it is a fun time and you will be looked after and cared for the whole night. I have attended multiple times on Friday nights to the delight that Charlotte wad working :) Hope for fun and safe nights...
