eta: as a thrifter in Hamilton for over five years who has visited Salvation Army downtown and on the mountain and in Stoney Creek,, Missions, Value Village in Stoney Creek, on the mountain and in Burlington, The Giving Closet run by a community church, Goodnews Thrift selling clothes by the lb - you are ripping people off. Your clothes are low quality, ripped, stained and old. The shoes are extremely used and poor quality to be priced at 15 and above. You do not have comparable prices to other places. You need to go through the stock again with people who know value and reprice everything or you are worse than Value Village, a corporation operating for profit. If you need clothes, take a walk down to Goodnews where you can find designer tags in decent condition for 4.99/lb. It's clear management has changed hands and the new one has no respect for the local community.
Well, the new layout is nice but the prices are absolutely outrageous now for extremely low quality items. This was a place to go to get a pair of used boots that were good enough to do the job at 5$. Now they're 20. Dresses used to be 3 and now they're 10. I've shopped here for years but will never return again. I hope the extra money goes to pay the seniors...

Great prices!! Always a good deal!! Staff friendly & helpful. The clothes section needs a little tweaking. Instead of lady's tops (button up blouses, sweaters & tshirts) hung altogether. Would be better if they were all in their own group. Same with the bins of winter stuff. Instead of mixing them altogether(ladies hats, scarves and mitts, boys & girls hats, scarves and mitts. Give each item their own bin. All the ladies hats in one, girls hats in another and so on. Wish I had the time to help. I live organizing!! 2 thumbs up for St....
Read moreI love hunting around thrift stores for awesome deals and weird one-of-a-kind items and St Vincent is one of my regular stops! Their prices are as low as it gets and the store is volunteer run by community donations, a super place to support either by shopping or donating, or both! I usually have a bag of stuff to donate when I visit and even though I'm trying to declutter...I end up going home with another bag of stuff because there is always something that catches my eye. They also do vouchers on certain days for those in need, I'm assuming for clothes or furniture but you'd have to...
