I went into the store today and made a purchase, and when I was about to pay I asked to have no plastic bag because I had a bag and just wanted less waste. I was surprised that when I asked for no bag, the person cashing me out (who I think is the manger at the store) was commenting back about how she likes plastic bags for using as garbage bags and thinks that things will never change....and that even being a mom with kids she doesn't care or believe anything will change with the way her kids are and doesn't seem to care for their future?!! I said if you don't change the way you think then things will never change and every little bit counts...and she continued to show me she disagreed! I left the store feeling really disturbed and upset about that encounter. I just can't believe why she had to express her negative views to me in this kind of manner, it's rude and very unprofessional and a bad look for the TJX company. Doesn't she know single use plastics will be banned in Canada by the end of Dec. 2022!!! Most people would just respect my choice for not wanting a plastic bag and not say anything, but I was very disappointed to have to deal with this kind of human being with disregard for our planet and just not professional...

Today I went shopping to Barton str location and of course due to pandemic I had to wait outside for about 30 min plus. There were 3 people on front of me and due to my sickness I had to go to the bathroom. I’ve asked the associate if I can get support and I’ve told her that I was already accommodated in the different location ( I’m doing home renovations so I need a lot of things ). I’ve told her that I’ll be right back to my line. So I went. On the way outside to get back to my line I was approached by management and I was yelled to go out ( she said to me - OUT) and she told me that I should go on the end of the line. Ty hen I’ve apologized and told her that I have a health problem and if I need to go to the bathroom, than I have to. Then I was told by Marshals manager that if I’m sick then I should stay home. I was so humiliated on front of the other people. I was discriminated because of my sickness. This is not acceptable in Canada. Discrimination because of any disability is against the law. Why the other location could help me with no issues but...

Generally I can always find something at Marshall's whether for clothes or home items. They have decent selection and decent prices. I think this location needs to switch it up more tho. Put some new stuff in more often! Always repeat items a year later they are still on the rack. The kids clothing selection is poor. The Christmas stuff in that season is plentiful. I must however state that I have found more "factory reject" items here and at other marshalls/winners locations that normal stores. The pants and tops are sometimes not cut correctly and home items frequently have defects. Sometimes it's a better idea to go to a more expensive store. I believe some of their beauty supplies and food items are questionable. The shampoo could very likely be fake (professional salon shampoos/conditioners) and some food items past their prime but with renewed best before dates stuck on over the old ones. The staff here is 50/50 . Some are really friendly and others extremely rude. The manager should pay close attention and fire those that are rude...
